Where is the write up on him?

He came off as 50/50 to me meaning what transpires in a next few days eg trades. More like a plan ‘b’ imo.

Benning just said if Mikey D is ready at camp to be the back up then we will use him but more than likely in Abbotsford . I take this as Holtby won't be a Canuck ( yes I am disecting every word. ) I took this as a slip up revealing his hand.

Also adding to that it sounds like no deal is imminent to move Holtby. If interest in him then maybe closer to seasons start & MDP in camp looks ready but I’d think MDP gets 55-60 games in Abby like JB eluded to.

I have a feeling that Ryan Johnson start getting GM job interviews starting next summer.

I don't know if either would be better than Holtby just cheaper. Arizona and Boston had pretty good defensive numbers.

They just moved the team to Abbotsford. I would expect having the team win lots would be good for business. Having actual Canucks prospects there too.

I still think it's something the Canucks need to improve on, developing the players long term in Utica. MD barely played last season, why not let him rip up the AHL for another season, I don't think it could hurt that much.

On Abby if necessary JB might run a 21 or 22 roster & use the Abby shuttle that LE drives. That’s dependent on how cap is allocated & using the Leafs/Marlies model. Again dependent on if cap needed to fill in the D.

Would be dumb to plan for Mikey to be anywhere other than Abbotsford. Even if he outplays Demko in camp and preseason. He played like 3 games last year.

I have heard the name Dow as an acquisition .

Jake will be bought out.
Holtby moved with a sweetener.

Benning did say Seattle have too many Dmen and he would be talking to Frances , but then he did say he would look to Free Agency for two bigger Dmen

I'm not convinced on Zadorov but like Montour if its reasonable.

I wouldn't mind Vatenan on a buy low candidate. A lot of it depends on whether they can move Schmidt.

Only way I would do that is if Risto was involved as well and we throw in Schmidt. Only problem is Schmidt probably blocks a trade to Buffalo

Yup a Rhino/Risto package makes more sense in my way of thinking.
The cost is the big hurdle.
