Without the injury, Eichel is a clear upgrade IMO but his health is such a massive question mark. I don't think we'll see any significant established player moved for him. All futures and 2nd tier players.

I expect he'll end with the Rangers now that they've cleared some more space.

Strome, Kravstov, Chytyil, Miller and a 1st.

Regardless, risto is not a good defensive defenseman. People are obsessed with big physical defenseman, but surely we can get chill oir b0ners on one's who aren't good defensively, and focus on big physical defenders who can actually defend (McCabe, Manson, Cernak, and to a lesser extent even nemeth). They can be big and physical which is great, but the canucks can't lose site of the fact that they need to actually play defense, which was a learning lesson with the gudbranson trade.

Even then, trying to offload bad contracts (Myers, roussel, Beagle, LE) doesn't make sense if you're acquiring a 6 year 8.25aav contract in return.
