I think the kid still deserves a shot. I'm not someone that thinks your entire life is defined by one moment, especially at that age. I just have a problem with drafting him now. To me, being drafted into the NHL is a privillege from both a talent and character perspective. He clearly has the talent and I truly believe he can turn his situation around and develop that character... I just dont think he has shown he has the character yet.

I also think it sends a pretty strong message to the rest of the league, its fans, and non-fans that there are things NHL teams are willing to tolerate without any recourse or action by the player other than to say he's sorry. Almost like your talent can make up for you being a $hit human being.
