He shopped him last season before trading Kerfoot.
He鈥檚 been shopping him this offseason so far. David Pognotta is the reputable source for that.
His contract is worth gold to some teams while the leafs don鈥檛 care about actual money. He will be traded. - Santo_44
Just like he will be claimed by Seattle or a different kind of proclamation...

Good fit in Boston for Hall. This always made sense 猡碉笍

Bruins and Taylor Hall are working on the final details of his agreement, including no-trade coverage. When finalized and signed, Hall stays in Boston for 4 years at $6 mil per season. - 21peter
Look at that a team that actually gets good value from their players.... |

There鈥檚 already been 3 trades and a signing. - Santo_44
A couple of minor trades sure.
But nothing too crazy.
We'll see. |

Bear in mind that they made a trade to not lose Kerfoot for nothing.
So if you give up a 7th & Hallander and keep Kerfoot so you can trade him for a 2nd or a 3rd or something of that nature, then the move was worth it.
I think they will explore trading Kerfoot because he's not worth his $3.5m cap hit for the Leafs, but there may be teams that want or can use him in their top-6. For what we need (a 3C), he's overpaid and really he's underqualified for the needs of that role. - Monkeypunk
I really hope so, because I think he's very overrated and we could do better with the cap space.
I just haven't seen anything to suggest that philosophy is shared by Dubas. |

I think they made McCann trade so they either had Kerfoot or his replacement for cheap.
Sure Kerfoot can still be traded but I think it's unlikely. However, Dubas does things noone sees really. - Aaron_85
There was a lot of chatter about the Leafs moving Kerfoot in the offseason - even before last season was done. Now some of that may have been partly for the cap relief in trying to keep Hyman, but the moving & juggling pieces here still have to get us to a place where we can sign a $4.5m winger for the top-6, and a 5/6/7 D-Man and a backup goalie and then the usual stand-ins that we can all pile on and hate - like Vesey (that jerk).
I do think that Kerfoot is a 3C. When I think of my 3C, I want him to be good at defense, and good at PK, and honestly . . . good at centre. Kerfoot is none of those things. He's a good winger. But at $3.5m, we can direct that cash elsewhere better. |

It took some bumps in the road for Sweeney to prevent him from getting his feet kicked out from under him, but he has come around.
Mistakes: 2015 Draft, Matt Beleskey, David Backes were all at the beginning of his tenure.
Other than that I mostly approve of the job that he鈥檚 doing. Too much cash for Coyle and other than that, I can鈥檛 really think of something I鈥檝e hated. I鈥檒l take it over what a lot of other GMs are doing.
He deserves a ton of credit for that Lucic trade too. It鈥檚 hard to believe he was moved with a year left on his contract for a 1st, Colin Miller and Martin Jones and then it was really wise to flip Jones for a 1st. I still can鈥檛 believe that one.
Point being, it can be wise to give a GM some rope with which to work, just don鈥檛 let him/her hang the franchise with it. Tough line to walk though. |

Why the hurricanes trade Nedeljkovic?
Does that not leave them with 3 UFA goaltenders.... 2/3rds of which being the always proven Bernier/Reimer combo?
Where's Bingo, this needs explaining. |

They weren鈥檛 going to pay him what he was most likely to be awarded in arbitration, which means he鈥檇 walk as a UFA. I believe it was well known league wide, so it probably stifled the return that they got. |

Really awful trade by the Canes. They obviously think they can sign a UFA goalie like Ande5en

Dubas said the main target is to find a goalie to play with Campbell.. Said he thinks Anderson, Robertson, Steeves, Sandin and Liljegrin could make the leap next season.. |

He got 2 x 3M from the Wings ...seems not unreasonable?
Canes were roooomered to be in on Kuemper last deadline, so maybe that?
It can't be a reuniting of Bernier-Reimer .... |

Yeah I agree with you. I think it was a great move by the Red Wings, but if the Canes had their mind made up on either going a different direction or that he wasn鈥檛 worth that, than what are you going to do?
I don鈥檛 get it and I don鈥檛 think it鈥檚 a wise move by the canes, but maybe they think they鈥檙e a higher caliber goalie away from true contention and I don鈥檛 think that鈥檚 too outlandish. If they indeed go out and acquire that goalie, I鈥檇 Imagine Nedeljkovic would require waivers to go to the AHL. |

It sure seemed like the focus is goaltending, said they are looking at someone that can get along with and support Campbell and the door is not entirely closed on Freddy( I hope it is ).. Alex Steeves is the college guy they signed earlier this year |

Apart from at least seeing the 2nd round?
I joke, I joke. He really solidified that second line. The team folded against the Islanders after the defense started to drop like flies and their depth there was tested. It鈥檚 honestly a very worrying and repeating problem in the playoffs. They really need to address it if they want to win the whole thing. |

it's a great signing for the Bruins.. If Marchand and Bergeron ever start showing their age, at least you still have Hall in the lineup |
