His analytics takes werent working so those guys were a more physical/skill add, a switch from what he was doing.
Which seemed to be working until they got injured. Simmonds was great before the injury and Foligno looked decent before his. - Fakepartofme
other thing is most teams are using analytics teams...so its not just a couple teams
Buffalo just hired Sam Ventura. so makes sense they dump risto

Is Hyman to the Oilers official yet?
Edit: just realized it can't be.

I think he is going.
Seems like no agreement on compensation to the Leafs (if any)

It could be if there was a sign-and-trade or trade-and-sign. |

Those were all acquisitions he made this past season, presumably, to offset his purely analytics driven moves.
But yeah, it could be that we're overrating his analytics brain because he wears glasses (I kid!) and that was the narrative that was sold when he was brought in as Asst. GM. - mjones242
I think collectively, we are all jaded and depressed... So, ummmm... Go Leafs Go I guess... |

I'm not looking forward to rolling out the same core again for another run.
Really, really hoping for a seismic move (Rielly, Marner).
Expecting Tomas Tatar and Petr Mrazek. |

It could be if there was a sign-and-trade or trade-and-sign. - mjones242 Would you take the rumored 6th or 7th Edmonton is offering for the 8th year? I wonder if it’s even worth it to help out Edmonton. Then again, they are in the west and teams do develop trade relationships.
On the other hand, I don’t think Holland is going to last too long with what he’s doing out there
And of course there are people here who don’t think Dubas will either. |

I'm just about done with this team. If it weren't for the young stars in Matthew's and Marner I probably would be.
If I'm Shanny, I give Dubas one last year to get out of the first round. If he doesn't, fired. Bring in an experienced GM and tell him, Matthew's stays, aside from that have at it, trade anyone you please.

I'd hope it would be something better than a 6th rd pick. |

Agree, trade anyone but Matthews.. Marner can go fly a kite in Arizona..
I think this will be Dubas' last year if they lose in the first round again or miss the playoffs |

Rielly for sure. His contract expires and he's not worth a raise on a long term contract. Enough letting guys wall for nothing, which I would normally be fine with, If we won some rounds now and then. Nothing stinks worse than losing players for nothing, trading high picks and decent prospects, just to win as many rounds as teams that miss the playoffs. |

I prefer to keep Marner cause if you're trading all of Matthew's buddies he's as good as gone too with his Pals all gone and him being next in line to be the next whipping boy. |

I don't know bud.. At this point, I am not even sure that the playoffs are a guarantee.
Atlantic division with Tampa, Boston, Florida and franking Ottawa, with some decent goaltending could surprise a lot of people.

I'll put Marner's points-per-game over/under in next year's playoffs at 1, and take the over. Bookmarked. |

To save the reported $500k in cap space? Maybe.. If that is the best offer, then let him sign for 7 years in Edmonton at a higher cap hit |

Holland needs to spend as much as he can in the short term (even stupidly) before Draisaitl and McDavid’s contracts expire. He’d sign Hyman to a 15 year contract if he could |
