Isles just traded Leddy. 1 year left on his contract. But they needed the Cap space.
- gergeswillems

I think he has 2 years.

And that was a cap dump. I was really referring to players who actually have positive value.

Leddy has 1 year left on his contract. He averaged 23 minutes a night in the playoffs for the Isles.

It helps if I can read properly the difference between Leddy and Ladd.

Agreed.
Enough with losing assets for nothing.
Try to extend him over the next couple of months, if not...work on trading him

- Fakepartofme

They will only trade him if they get can improve the team this year, either with a player that can help or space they can actually use (not HB use). Otherwise, they will play him, keep trying to extend him and if it doesn’t work, say goodbye and thanks.

The Dubas presser was only day ago. This year is all that matters. Shanny won’t let him do anything outrageous but they don’t have a problem with an “own rental”.

More chance at Hamilton I would think.

Jones doesn’t wanna play in stinky ole Montreal errrrr Canada I mean.

- Garnie

Hamilton would legitimately be a GREAT fit on the Habs.

Its not outrageous to trade morgam for picks and sign hamilton.
Neither shanny or dubas will be around when that contract ends

Incredibly stupid to go all-in on this season, they have shown nothing to suggest they're even close.

You shuffle an asset like Rielly properly, and you maintain your spot being a piece or two away when there is an inkling that it's time to blow your wad and go all-in.

You let an asset like Rielly walk for nothing and not only are you not even on the all-in radar, your hands are tied on fallback options. No picks, no prospects, no serious assets to market.

So is the plan to say we're all-in on this year, if we whiff plan B is to look at trading Marner and Willie? That's pretty much their only legit hand at that point, and if that is the fallback plan, why not go there now when you've got other cards left to play as well... 🤷🏻‍♂️

If he has a deal in hand that doesn’t handicap the rest of the lineup, sure. What’s the difference in cost between the two and what does that constrain you from doing?

Is the improvement in going from Rielly to Hamilton big enough if it costs you from finding a decent improvement for Hyman or making any other improvements to the third line? If you can do it and improve overall, great. Just to upgrade Rielly, I don’t see it happening.

My love for the Leafs puts me in a conflict.

Do I have to cheer for Americans to die of Covid so Canada becomes more attractive to these anti-restriction/mask types?

I think Dubas was pretty clear in stating what everyone knows: his future is tied to the short term results from the core 4.

Is Holland stupid to sign Hyman long term if he can get the AAV down or does he only care about having $ for guys to play with McDavid before his contract is up?
