I did love the North division though, that was fun.

The idea was fun but not the reality of it.

Any division playing the same teams over and over again would wear thin. 10 games against Buffalo and Detroit would be brutal.

Also, Friedman saying players not wanting to come to Canada is a real thing.

I’m guessing the NHL won’t give a poop.

I briefly saw some of the penalties against teams in the NFL, who are considered unvaccinated. I don’t know what constitutes an entire team being considered vaccinated or not and whether it’s percentages or everyone that can be vaccinated has been, but holy poop. If a team has to forfeit a game, it will not be rescheduled, the team loses and the players forego their paycheck.

Something tells me the leagues will just have everyone fall in line. I’d imagine Canada’s vaccination progress is close to that of the US in 2 months resulting in restrictions being lifted. Hell, you’ll probably pass us with the rate of vaccinations in the US. Or am I totally off in just assuming Canada has the vaccines and access to it that they need?

Oh I liked the reality too. I wish they'd do more home-and-homes and back-to-backs against the same teams even now. But then I like the divisional playoff seeding matchups that everyone else hates too. I'm the only guy that likes that.

I believe Canada leads the US in single dose percentages now.

Yeah the NFL is kinda crazy. It isn't too bad. It's just if a covid outbreak happens and they cannot reschedule the game within the 18 week period AND it can be traced to an unvaccinated player then they get penalized, heavily.

Yeah I’m not surprised that. So I’m assuming restrictions will be lifted in the coming months or is that not the case? Anyways, the leagues not going back to the divisions of last year and the players can gripe all they want, but I doubt it matters

Oh was that what the NFL was about? I briefly saw it on the news and either missed the bold or they didn’t really report on the matter well. It was local new so I wouldn’t be surprised by either

Any word on what happens if the bold happens, but they either can’t trace it to an unvaccinated player? Do you know if they’ll reschedule the game then?

We blew by you guys in vax rates this week, and continue to do so. This was after a huge lag on our part due to supply. You guys are Leafing it up now. Too many people in the US don't want it because they're being told by leaders and broadcasters who themselves of course have taken it, not to trust it. It really doesn't make very much sense.

1. We are slowly lifting things here in Ontario but I wouldn't be surprised if we roll some of it back.

2. I heard pieces on talk radio and I forgot to mention youre right about the paychecks not being given out should this happen. Also, I dont know the answers to your questions. I heard what I wrote from tsn radio. I missed more details.

They have turned around and had fox and other media say to get it now but its too late. The damage is done.

I also think with the US simply opening things uo more and more theres people going "i don't need it now. Its over"

Such evil poop, every one at Fox had the vaccine months ago and they're playing culture war to the MAGA base. It's so venal.

I read about patients who are about to be intubated in the ICU begging for the vaccine and the nurse is like sorry it's too late. Sad to see a beacon of science and medicine like the US reduced in some to medieval ignorance.

I imagine a lot of this simply boils down to education. There’s a reason the northeast and other areas are vaccinated at a higher rate than others. I don’t need a news outlet to tell me what and what not to do, but there are a lot of people that rely on the wrong “sources” and are just fed misinformation. It’s unfortunate for a slew of reasons, but mostly because, like you said, they are the ones paying the price.

Even if we had the cap to sign Hyman, is he really worth 5.5? I see him as a 4-4.5ish player & a max term should be out of the question.

Great day for Hyman. Nice player, but I wouldn’t have given him that term.

I am not a huge fan of Dubas but, overall, he has done a decent job. I certainly support his stand in going all in on Marner.

However, in terms of hockey philosophy, I do wonder if he should not realign his perspective on the need for more grit sprinkled through the line up.

Don't know how Dubas fixes it, but a line-up without Kahdri and Hyman seems to be moving backwards from where the Leafs were headed a few years ago.

Well, Kadri can't stop drilling guys in the head in the playoffs. It's literally his favourite thing. Hyman is a cap reality. I think the Leafs have shown they want to add grit, but if adding what you need was simple, no team would have needs.

You're right about Marner though.

I think Hyman could be worth that money for a few years. But as much as it stings at the time to lose a guy, I've seen enough of the Leafs bringing in guys AFTER their peak years. I can't complain when they cut bait now, it's prudent.

I'm basically counting the Kadri trade as a win at this point. He has gotten himself suspended three of the last four postseasons.

I can't even believe he got suspended again this year. We joked about it, but I didn't think he'd really do it.

Arizona gave up a 2nd and 7th for ghost Ker plunk is even more valuable than I thought.

Arizona got paid a 2nd and 7th to take the contract kerplunk is negative value.

Signed Hopefully Santo.

- daws44

Actually, Flyers sent ghost plus a second and a seventh and got a bag of farts in return. It was a get rid of a contract trade like the Marleau deal. Arizona also did the same with Ladd. The NHL really needs to get rid of the Coyotes. They are the sewage treatment plant of the NHL.

Listened to Kyle on Overdrive yesterday. Says he doesn't "blame" the fans for "doubting the process".

Thanks, Kyle.

But if by "process", you mean cornering yourself. getting weaker, and trying to plug holes with, well. plugs, you're doing a fabulous job.

He has created a pre-madonna culture. It shows all the time. Why does Marner wear an "A" or have that contract? Why does he coddle the team's failures? I will say one thing, it is ballsy to triple down on his theory. No doubt about it, it's now or never for him.

a Flat cap def makes things more difficult. in a normal world, Mitch taking 2+ mil more than he should wouldnt sting as much if they now had 85-86mil to work with.

there is no doubt in my mind they Leafs improved this past season, whether you think its can div related or not, they were pushing a 112 point pace. which is a franchise best by a bunch.

the only thing that matters is winning playoff rounds, and if they dont do that in 2022. I agree, this group is gone.
