apologies if you live in Edmonton.
Passed by there for a few days while on a trip from Toronto through Canada to Vancouver Island.
Edmonton was.. not the most interesting part of the trip. |

The fact that Hyman wants to go to poophole Edmonton instead of staying in Toronto, apart from the extra money is an indication as well that he's not very happy with the team culture. Could see how a character guy that works hard, is intelligent and wants to win cost what costs doesn't like the entitlement culture around him.
I hope it works out for him (but what a cost to pay living in Edmonton.... I guess being 50% on the road and having a June-Oct Summer pause where he can train wherever he wants makes up for it to some extent). - MaximusAurelius
Hot take is hot.
He was willing to take less from the Leafs which seems to indicate he was happy playing for the team. Dubas didn't can't fit his contract and/or doesn't want to sign him for that term.
No need to dig into the "culture" of the team. |

Also, you must have missed a turn cause Edmonton is about 4 hours north of the highway to Vancouver. |

Logan Paul is a nobody, with the IQ of a turnip. He just fought Mayweather on a pay-per view event. He's 26 and would be in jail if he didn't make so much money as a youtuber. Hyman took advantage of Fortnite craze, started arranging tournaments. Many of the Leafs are gamers, Hyman used his business skills to create passive income. Has nothing to do with him being a Leaf. Did he use being a Leaf to kick start the business, sure, will it make money every month moving forward. Quite likely. Will he take a hit if he is an oiler - probably not. - winsix

accept it - dubas is creating a culture of failure and entitlement.

You realize that Hyman could be willing to take less to stay in Toronto - and the Leafs could say no, right?
I swear - you seem to think contracts are a one way negotiation.

Train goes the same route as the trans can unless you pu purposely took another one to go to Edmonton.
The only places Edmonton is on the way to are Fort Mac and the Arctic, you don't casually stop there on the way anywhere. |

Yes, reports are that he was willing to take a discount. Sounds like that discount or the term (or a combination of the both) was not something Dubas felt he could or wanted to match.
I hate the Marner contract, I'm not pleased with the "stand pat" narrative he seems to be weaving for next season, and I also feel like Dubas is falling into the trap of building a skill team that succeeds in the regular season but does not have the necessary "truculence" to succeed in the post-season.
I have my issues with Dubas but I don't think this notion of "culture" is one of them. |

Rarely do you find train stations in the best parts of town.
Unless its a small town or city if 100 000 people |
