I'm just opposite. I like less sweet for cocktails like Old Fashioneds or Manhattans.

Oh yeah I don't drink Bourbon straight, exclusively old fashioned's for me. Usually I do 1792, Four Roses or Basil Hayden's but lately I've been on a trace kick and my friend just introduced me to the Rye.

I approach those two drinks completely differently. I like old fashions to be fruity from the muddle and have the natural sweetness of low rye content bourbon and I like my Manhattans very rye heavy. I even prefer to go full Rob Roy with Manhattans some times.

Apparently Edmonton and Toronto are getting close to a sign and trade for Hyman. I can't wait to see the overpay on this deal.

It’s already been reported: 8 years $5M per with sign and trade or 7 years at $5.5M per of they get him in FA

I'm glad we didnt trade for Risto.. the kicker is the Flyers not only traded for him... they overpaid for him.

Rakell would be a great pickup. Very confused why no one would want Pettersson at $4M. I dont think we should trade him for the sake of trading him in that case.

According to Seravalli the Canes are looking to move Foegle who wants more ice team and opportunity. I like his game a lot and if there's a way for the Pens get in on that they should really go for it.

No, I mean what is Edmonton going to pay for the sign and trade as opposed to free agency. How much is that .5 worth to them long term and the extra year. I've heard Toronto is asking for a 2nd, Edmonton originally offered a 6th I think.

It's Edmonton. They will probably give them McDavid for Hyman.

I hope that Doesn't set the market. And if it did, I hope we stay out of it!

Trying to move Bean too, which will be a good pickup for some team.

I like both players. But moving them in division probably isn’t attractive and I’m sure teams outside the division will be interested.

I’ve really liked these Cane teams of the past three or so years and I feel like they’re making themselves worse on purpose. Shame.

I think he would be a nice fit. They have a spot in the middle 6 for a LW too. He is an RFA though. I wonder what his asking price is.

They gotta try to get some more finishing talent. They control the play like woah but when you play teams like Tampa who are just built to score any shift (much like the 15-16 Pens) it's tough when you don't have the same finishing talent.

the fourth period unleashed some doozies that we're linked to...

Rackell
Ekholm
And..................

The Thrill!

If only the fourth period wasn't a crock of poop.

- Rinosaur

Yes and Yes for Rackell and Ekholm. I’d rather Dvorak from Arizona.

I could see someone like him signing a two year bridge deal to prove his worth. I think the Pens could get him for around $2.5/$3M for a couple of years. I'd offer up Poulin or Legare .

I think one of the best forms of entertainment is knowing a bad trade happened and reading replies leading up to the breaking news. Flyers blog starts going nuts at ~1:45 and i'm dying at the comments...

Here’s to hoping they have some MacPatty’s in there gloating at how great of a trade it was.

You probably won't even need to offer one of those two. Carolina is trying to keep payroll low to sign their home grown stars. I could see a 3rd or maybe a 4th getting it done. Especially if Foegle wants out.
