And you know exactly what you meant, you moron.
- DrMidnite

You’ve now used the terms moron and idiot which both originated as terms to describe the same people the r word does. Congrats.

No, it isn't

re·tard
verb
past tense: retarded; past participle: retarded
/riˈtärd/

delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment.
"our progress was retarded by unforeseen difficulties"

The Team's progress towards winning a cup has been retarded by chuckles inability to better the team

- corduroy

Context in which the word was used in the original post is offensive. Some people are idiots, and their posts that include words that are offensive and used with little or no consideration for those with cognitive disability should be banned.

The word isnt used to exclusively describe a person's cognitive development, settle down
- THE BLACK HAND

Not getting into this but...as an adjective, it almost exclusively is. As a verb, no. But, the original poster used it as an adjective.

The original quote was used perfectly fine. It might seem like the Ghost trade wasn't very good right now but freeing up that space might end up paying off in the long run. Get offended over something actually worth being mad about(not just you)

I am sorry that you immediately think that the word retarded is meant as a slight to people with learning disabilities. I do not think like that. I find it odd that you have called me a moron though, whose meaning is "a stupid person"

mo·ron

a stupid person.

Once again Corduroy.

I was wrong and will no longer use the words.

But by all means feel free to use retard in public and outside of these forums!

But you wont because you're a coward and are afraid of actual repercussions from your ignorance.

The original post states that the trade has slowed the progress of improving the team, but it may speed up the progress depending on what is done with the assets gained from the trade. Nothing in it has anything to do with cognitive abilities.

If and when the time comes that I need to say that something has slowed down, and retard is the correct word for the situation, I will use it. I am sorry that you automatically feel hurt over a word that is used correctly.

Ha ha.

No.

The phrasing used was "was retarded", referring to the trade/move (noun), which means it was used as an adjective.

EDIT: "seems retarded" was what OP meant, but point stands (of adjective use, and not verb).

Check the edit, pho pho.

Not that it makes the slightest difference to my point but it should keep you lost in thought for a good awhile.

And then you will fall asleep.

Watch the Phillies the last three nights and you can easily hate them too. In fact they might be the most dislikable team in town.
