Bill asks about the #13

Was never going to be used in a trade to dump salary, but could be used in a hockey deal -Fletch

- MBFlyerfan

Love everything this guys says and his moves have been pretty good too

I know, essentially Fletcher traded a 2nd and 7th round pick for $4.5M in cap space for the next two years. I think that is a good trade, considering 1. the Flyers could not bring back Ghost and 2. he apparently had ZERO trade value.
- jd250

It’s not a good trade….but they couldn’t even lose him on waivers. Not surprised at all they had to add to rid themselves of him. As another pointed out you can just imagine what Jake contract would cost the Flyer to get rid of. But, and this is a big but, it may be a prelude to what else Fletcher is working on. I’ve been saying for awhile Fletch would do some things that wouldn’t be very popular…case in point. Bye, bye Ghost.

Yeah, you're right. He's great at puck retrievals & outlet passes. And is a sick neutral zone defender. I'm not really sure what that means, but it apparently it's a very good thing. And he put up a ton of points just a couple of years ago. Guy just needs to get his confidence back, that's all. We shoulda been more patient. We don't need that $9M over the next two years. My bad
- Big_E_88

The guy is a competent NHL player. He can help out any team, including the Flyers. chuckles gave away three assets for 4.5 million in cap space. That is asset is management plain and simple

Sometimes you have to do things that don't make sense at first to turn the overall big picture into success.

If the Wild continue to become a solid team and making the playoffs, no one is caring about the Suter/Parise buyouts.

I'm totally fine in that trade to get rid of Ghost. We have cap space to do something, prevents us from draft another leberge, ginning or ratcliffe. I would've been upset if we didn't move out any money

When we look back at how deep the 2022 draft was, some of the star players taken in the 2nd-round, I hope you all will remember this moment when you said you were happy with this trade.

I’m fine with it. Hopefully Fletch can ditch a bit more $ and make a splash we can all get behind.

Yeah it has the potential to be franchise altering. Just pure incompetence eon the GM's part. Should have just kept him and make it work. Giving up a 2nd is a disgrace.

So just for poops and giggles if the Flyers are out of it at the TDL they can't make a move to acquire a 2nd rounder in 2022?

I get it. You don't like the move. How about letting the rest of the offseason play out first.

It's not like Fletcher cleared a 9 million dollar cap hit. You know the group of people who post here that are literally fine with everything the Flyers do.

Wait til you get a load how Fletcher spends the money he cleared.

Averaged 17 min TOI, chipped in a half a point a game (ON PACE FOR 41!) and was a minus 2 on a team where any elmore would have been a defensive upgrade.

One team was smart enough to take advantage of a gm who at best is medicore at his job.

That's exactly how it'll be... the same people lauding the move now will be the same people roasting CF for being stupid enough to waste a pick like that.

He was sick wasn’t he! Why weren’t people lining up to take him off our hands? We had to pay up to get rid of him!
