Christ...they must have really been worried about his presence in the room. That feels like a lot when it probably would have been easier just to trade him at 30-40% retained and no picks
- juiced

They surely must have another move in the works and think York is ready to take over on the 3rd pair and PP2.

Wow. Giving up picks to free up cap space. Team Action Bias is going to be VERY happy this off season.

Wow. Now I don't feel so good about this trade. Hoping there is more to come to make up for this.

They could have had him for free last year when they waived him, so I'm fine with 2 picks and no salary retained

This comment didn't age very well did it. Oh well, Ghost is gone, we get some cap relief. But Ghost actually had negative value.
- dubc55

really didn't LOL... This has to be part 1 of a move, why spend those assets to move Ghost.

They were wrong, they couldn't have him for free...they had to get paid to take him for free too.
- Glak18

How do you think Ghost feels knowing that?

Honestly it is a bad trade for Fletcher, but to add two assets just to get rid of someone means its a desperate situation.

THis is the final nail in the coffin of this Ghost story.

Fans overvalued him.

Nobody wanted him on waivers.
Seattle didn't want him in the expansion draft.

Now Philly had to throw in a 2nd rd pick to get rid of him....for cap space.

It's over. Reality wins again.

Someone tell me if I'm wrong but Fletcher didn't need to clear space to re-sign Hart, Sanheim and a backup goalie right?

So there must be something else in the works?

Do you think York could?

I mean people called me a dummy when I said York must be replacing Ghost after they drafted him....on THIS board.

This goes to show: Voracek contract without retention will require more than a #13 pick to move.

Wonder if this was offered to Seattle and Francis turned down 2 picks for the contract.
