Don't think it's that serious to lose Borgen, but imo the smart move would have been to trade Risto before the expansion draft so we could protect Borgen. Would just like to see this organization utilize smart asset management for once. - zdp1189
Takes a team to want to give up a protection spot though. Highly doubt that was an option. |

Welcome home 👑
I heard from guy on hockeybuzz, guys are getting traded.

You shouldn’t joke around. Campbell Spinorama made a lot of people on here cry for stuff like that. You have to pretend to be 100% serious about your made up source around here.
Do you remember the 1989 Bills season? This Bills season remind you of that year? Watch it be Cleveland too. |

Potentially, coulda been Risto for a protected player and a pick, something like that. Woulda been a wash on protection. |

They're small things but they've added up over the last 10 years. |

Yes they have, would have gone a long way in making us a better organization if the asset management was better. |

I see Botterill really Botterilled the Expansion Draft. He never got Zero Forward Strat off the ground in Buffalo, but some how convinced Francis to give it a try for the Kraken. What were they thinking? Were they thinking at all? Everything about that draft was horrible. |

I really don’t understand either. Looking at those picks I was expecting them to have a lot more selections tomorrow. |

Yeah, I don’t know, I think your point was better. The options for players you could protect aren’t in favor of defencemen. |

Maybe I’m imagining it, but thought Vegas was thought to have done at least a decent job after their draft. I never heard of most of Seattle’s picks. |

For everyone who says losing Borgen is no big deal:
We spent 6 years developing him, only to let him go for free.
Now imagine this was last year and it was Olofsson, whom we also spent 6 years developing before calling him up to the main roster.
I rest my case. - Jet Jaguar BD
Congrats ........ its an expansion draft. Most teams that lost a player did the same LOL |

McPhee bent the league over a barrel, absolutely killed it. I don't know WTF that was yesterday. |

NRD just liked this tweet. This is the guy he was on the podcast with earlier today. It was a response from the Jimmy Hayes tweet from earlier.
“Welcome Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi to Buffalo”

But but but Sabres89 said if that was the offer it would be done already |

But it wasn't Olofsson and What ifs are just fairy tales that never happened.
Also we didn't let him go for free, we were forced to provide players for the expansion draft
You sabres fans spend more time complaining about Borgen than all the fans combined and their team's losses in the expansion draft.
Its refreshing reading St. Louis fans site where they are wishing Vince Dunn well and not one complained about spending 6 years developing him. I guess thats the difference between winners and losers. |

Then why take Adams to task for not trading Borgen when it would have caused him to be in the same situation protection wise...i.e. trade a guy who you are mad they protected, for another guy they would have to protect...thereby having to expose Borgen either way.

Review of Jack's Medical Records could be the delay.
I assume if you are investing $55m you might want your medical team to support the move before presenting it for final approval. |

Just enough to want more, but enough to be encouraged like Buster said. |
