Just out of curiosity... (not to Richard punch you specifically), do the people of seattle consider players from BC to be 'local'?
I see that word a lot, I get that it's right there, but is a different country and they do have their own team which is sure to be a bitter rival after all.
I live an hour from Montana and there is a grand total of exactly zero people from Montana I would consider to be local.
I've literally spoken to people in Montana who couldn't name one city in Alberta. - joel878
First of all, I'm going off what other columnists have said, with - what I assume - is more regional knowledge than I have. The last time I was in Seattle was in '92 or so . . . so it's been a while. The people I knew there were fond of Canada, but I don't think they considered it a part of their community. But there is an overall coastal community as well that people do glom onto. You take the East coast as an example of this, and it's very strong there. In the Maritimes they're more nationalistic about it, though. They very likely wouldn't celebrate someone from Maine.
But if guys like Friedman and LeBrun or whoever it was (they were people that you'd respect more than the radio guys or some of the local market guys) were talking that way a month ago, then I was inclined to take it at face value.

I know so many people who get into the latest fad diet. Or they believe inane nutritional ideas because four different 'doctors' said the same thing on youtube. They don't understand algorithms.
Nobody wants to hear the weird, secret trick of being fit. Balanced healthy diet and relentless exercise. - Zezel

That’s the saddest thing I ever heard. - Canada Cup
You could make an REM song and dedicate it to Jimmy Tanner...
"Oh no I poo too much. I haven't pood at all. That's Zez in the kitchen. That's Zez on the Toy Let pooing his kung pow chicken. Trying to get a bowel movement and I don't know if he can do it. Oh no he ate too much. He hasn't ate enough."

Fair, I was not calling you out. Generally looking for info on that one. I'd be interested in knowing how future krakheads feel about it.
Marner is He-man in comparison to Willie, wake up birdie. Trade him because he makes too much but don’t embarrass yourself. 🤣 - Garnie
Hmmm yeah I dunno about that one, if Marner and willie drop the gloves I got a crisp 20 on Willie.
Willie looks farm boy strong for some reason, Marner looks like he would be physically overwhelmed from the force of a fart should he take the brunt of it.

I’m talking on the ice, I’ve seen Nylander shy away and leave the puck more then any other hockey fellar not named Kessel in my whole life.
I liked him too. Just not at 2.5 per. But ya, you gotta put your Roger/AA blockers on and this place is much more readable. - The Law
I liked Martin here, played not too bad...didn’t just throw the puck away...laid the body, would fight so others didn’t have too, even if he’s gonna get beat up.
Team game, that’s why you spread the salaries out...so we don’t end up with Slow Joe and Offside Simmonds.
