No we should stay the course, do the Leafy thing and let Rielly walk for zippo.
- bobbyisno1

This is precisely what will happen.

Dvorak contract is a little high for the leafs, but maybe the yotes can retain a little bit. Him and marner played together in London and just destroyed the league. Probably helped their other winger on that line was Matthew tkatchuk.
- bryant

His contract is a little under what he is worth.

4.45M for a player that just turned 25? He has more upside and probably gets more points on a Leafs team. He is already great in his own zone.

Will be sought after though, how many 25 year old cost controlled true C's enter the market?

We should definitely trade Rielly this summer.
- joel878

Trade him for another D with term who maybe isnt as good as rielly right now.

Which is probably the only you do a one for one trade with a pending ufa.

I'm confused why we want to trade Kerfoot and take on a similar player in Dvorak for a higher cap hit, he's no that good.
- Archaic

Care to explain?

Dvorak is better and its not close at all.

Important to remember ARZ has been a bottom 8 scoring team the past 3 years and Dvorak just finished his 24 year old season.

Well the great thing about the kessel trade....is its the gift that keeps on giving.
Oh how the leafs could use that 1.2m in cap space the past few years.

- Fakepartofme

Or even this year, that's another 2/3rds Holl

He has 1 year and can extend any time. Theres a lot of teams that value that.

If the return is a second pair defenceman and a top six/nine tweener winger I don't hate that.

That's not what Corsi, Fenwick, and PDO are saying.

Also, do you deny that Holl's play declined as the season progressed?

What I saw showed higher shots, expected goals and outscoring opposition (42-30 I think) while only taking about 46% of the starts in the offensive zone. I can’t find the article where I read this. Everyone who hates this protection list says his play dropped off. I can’t say one way or another, so I won’t disagree.

I just find it extremely odd that so many people who had so many ideas that cost money are so ready to add another few million in replacement costs to the shopping list.

The Kraken get to talk to the UFAs early, and if they feel comfortable with that player they could delay the actual signing until next Wednesday...they do risk other teams being able to get involved, but this gives them a chance to also claim a signed player or an RFA from the teams unprotected list

He hasnt had more then 38 points, and while he had a decent season last year, where is this huge jump from Kerfoot? At least Kerfoot is decent defensively.

You think Dvorak is going to score more on the leafs playing 3rd line duty? No chance.

Kerfoots 24 yo season he scored 42 points and that's more then Dvorak has ever had. Oh and Dvorak Hasan higher cap hit. He's not what the leafs need

I keep hearing about Brock McGinn. He had 13 points last year. Is he any good?

Dvorak is worlds better than Kerfoot defensively...Check Kerfoots D stats when playing C, they aren't good.

Kerfoot played on the Avs with Nathan MacKinnon.

Dvorak can drive offence and is strong in his own zone, can actually play C well.

Points are whatever, they'd be higher on a team that can actually score. He has a lethal shot and drives offence.

Really good defensively.

Can offer what Hyman offered in his rookie season, gets the puck to the stars and can handle going up against top lines due to his D.

Won't score much.

This is all just wishful thinking. He gets a bigger opportunity on the Coyotes playing bigger minutes, and more PP time. His points would decrease. He'd be a useless acquisition

Whatever happened to expansion clubs paying their (frank)ing dues and sucking for a few years?

Seattle makes the post-season for sure this year.

Its pretty simple when you are on a bad team you don't score as much. They have no elite forwards whatsoever.

He is a 2C and you are way disregarding his talent in his own end.

He has a lethal shot and has proven he drives lines...Its very reasonable to expect him to do better on a good team. More looks=more goals.

But our UFA's at the time were like free TDL acquisitions....or something like that.
Its ok to do that one year...but they cant keep doing it.

- Fakepartofme

Year 1 and 2 of “there’s going to be pain” should not be “free TDL acquisitions” 🤣

He wouldn't be on this team. He'd have diminished ice-time and lesser line-mates to work with.

Seems like an expensive option for a 3C. I like him but it'd be a tight fit and I'd prefer to have someone who is a defensive stud playing on that 3rd line if we're forking out that kind of cash.

Edit: does he PK at all?

He is a 2C on Arizona.. Would not be a 2C here, unless something is really wrong with Tavares. Playing 3C here would give him less ice time.

I definitely don't anything about him. How much do you think he signs for on a new contract?

Would be great to have a cheap Hyman-ish option!

Or when you get more minute then you would, you get more points then you would on a good team....look at Connor Brown for example or others like that.

You are truly overeating Dvorak
