Barry has been huge for Bailey. Bailey is still very frustrating but I'd rather lose Eberle. Bailey brings more to the team.
- ses111

100%. Eberle is a one trick pony in close. Bailey is like a Swiss Army knife

Confirmed* players so far: McCann, Driedger, Dunn, Fleury, Larsson, Oleksiak
Likely to be picked: B. Tanev, Gourde

Picks have been breaking left and right. Did we miss anyone?

* Nothing is 100% until we see Seattle announce their picks at 8pm tonight.

Sorry, I'm working and relying on chief to continually serve up the Seravalli tweets to keep up with the days actions.

I don't recall ever hearing similar statements about Parenteau or Brad Boyes being near-PPG playoff performers. Comparing Bailey to those two is nonsense.
- eichiefs9

Not comparing the players themselves, but the dismissal that such point production can often be attributed to the role as well as the player. And yes, there were plenty of people mentioning right here how PA's near ppg pace over a couple of seasons would be hard to replace, hence the continued PA/Chick Norris jokes. Similar defenses were made for Frans.

Sounds like the three goaltenders selected by #SeaKraken will be Chris Driedger (FLA), Vitek Vanecek (WSH) and Joey Daccord (OTT).

Hearing a rumor that Seattle will take (or I suppose at this point, has taken) Jordan Eberle from the Islanders. We shall see tonight...

BREAKING - I can confirm that the Seattle Kraken have chosen Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano as their pick at the Expansion Draft, to be announced this evening.

Their blueline is going to be rock solid right off the bat. Larsson, Oleksiak, Dunn, Giordano is a solid top 4 for an expansion team.

Better top 4 than some existing teams.

Kinda surprised the Pens would let Tanev go. I’d be happy to see him out of our division.

These (frank)in expansion rules are garbage by the way. What happened to the days of Pat Falloon and Radek Bonk?

Agreed. Gotta protect Vegas' competitiveness! Even though they've been more competitive than like 28 other teams since entering the league.

Here's a question: Of the 30 other teams in the league that have to give up players, how many do you think would jump at the chance to trade their situation for the opportunity to operate under the model they created for Seattle? So, you have to give up your whole roster, but also all your bad contracts, and you get to pick a new team according to these rules...including being able to negotiate with everyone's UFAs before all the other teams. If you're like me and come to an answer that the vast majority of teams would take that deal in a heartbeat, then maybe the process is a little too skewed toward the new team in the name of making sure they're competitive.

I didn’t know that and it’s ridiculous if it’s true.

Others would know better than I do, as I'm just catching up on all the rules, but I believe the tradeoff is Vegas did not get any of Seattle's franchise fee that other teams got.

Seattle roster and UFA/RFA signing due in 20min. Roster isn't announced until 8pm tonight....I don't remember if it happened last time around, but I wonder if we start to see some of the selections leak out during the day.

I think Vegas was exempt from the expansion draft because they don’t have the years of draft choices and prospects the other teams do.
That’s the only reason I can see the league did this.

Hearing Seattle is going to take Colin Blackwell from #NYR ... but there could be a trade in the works (for D Mark Giordano?) that changes the pick and allows Rangers to keep Blackwell.
