Yes the poster always forgets to include necessary info when it comes to Bowman

And now it seems Zadorov is Deaf and dumb

Depends on who elects arbitration, etc.

Do you see any Kraken selection that the Hawks would/should give up the Vegas 2nd round pick for (that the Kraken would seriously consider).

I agree with all that except if Stan needed another $4m to go shopping and we have no idea how many games deHaan lasts? $4m could buy a younger better or different position player.

They have plenty of money for that.

It will be interesting to see what if anything extra was sent to Seattle from Calgary Tampa and the islanders as those if reports aren’t correct were the three biggest contracts taken

Results from the poll I took on who you all think the Kraken would take from the Hawks:

Zadorov (31)
Gaudette (12)
Subban (7)
de Haan (5)
Connolly (3)
Carpenter (1)
Delia (1)
Lindholm (1)
Quenneville (1) - pretty sure this vote came in after the rumors that he was Seattle's pick

For those who care to play and haven't submitted their vote yet, click the following link to submit your vote for who you think the Hawks will take with their 1st pick in the entry draft.

Well looking like the Hawks are basically unchanged from the Seattle draft. Where are we right now?

DeBrincat - Toews - Kubalik
Suter - Dach - Kane
Hagel - Strome/Borgstrom - Nylander/Connolly
Carpenter - Kampf - Kurashev/Gaudette

De Haan - Murphy
Sillman/Jones - Mitchel/Kalynuk
Zadorov - Boqvist

Trade: Strome/Carpenter/Zadorov

Ideally Palat/Killorn is brought in as 1LW, allowing Hagel to drop to 3rd line.

We should learn more of the Hawks plans in the couple weeks. Qualifying offers need to be done by the end of this weekend. It's possible Hawks will not qualify Zadorov if he doesn't fit into the plans, knowing that they will have to at least offer 3.2 mil on the QO.

I'm curious to see where Stan goes right now. The Hawks have over 10.5 mil that will be injured between Shaw and Seabrook, will allow them to pick up salary in deals during the season for sure. None of the RFA should get a big raise, so there is a little money to work with before making any trades.

Not saying it will happen, but I'd laugh if the Hawks let Zadorov go UFA and then sign Saad.

Fixed that for you BTD.
So you are thinking Blowman gives the Oaf a QO of $3.2 (his current hit).
However, have you forgotten, the Oaf can elect arbitration and then Blowman likely gets stuck with a much higher cap hit (you'd think under $4.5M for sure) for 1 year. He can't walk away and the Oaf can't sign anywhere else. I also don't think he can be traded once that happens.

Stuck with a big, slow-thinking, slow-footed oaf.
Great.

Savvy, don't you realize Vladdy Putin reads Hockeybuzz on a daily basis? When he gets the Russian translation for Oaf, slow thinking and slow footed, your name is going into the same 'problems to fix' file as opposition dissident Alexay Navalny.

On another note, looking at Seattle's expansion draft roster starting today, I predict the Kracken will end the season with more standings points than the Blackhawks.

If no moves are made then its another of the same. More development and youth which is good. But several players need to make significant steps forward. Dach boqvist Mitchell Beaudin both should start in Rockford, dcat and Kubalik improving more on their two way game. And to see lannkian take a step forward with his play. Can handle the load of a number 1 goalie and pressure that come with it. And most important thing team defense and understanding whatever system JC is running. If hawks do trade for a player or players its has help on d and some physical players with edge to their game or sign player should be 1 to 2 year contracts and be able to flip at the tdl. Need a sustainable offensive forecheck consistently and better transition game. Its a lot but need progression if hawks ever want to see the playoffs again.

Ha ha Rick, well as long as he doesn't come after me personally with his shirt off, I won't worry too much!

And I did post that if the Oaf files for arbitration, the Hawks will get stuck with him for another year - they can't walk away if the award is under $4.538M. Hopefully the arbitrator will give the Oaf a $4.6M ruling so Blowman can walk away.

Thanks LA for the link - pulled this tidbit, which is what I was referring to:

Player elected Arbitration Settlements of 1 year and greater than $4,538,958, Club can walk away from the awarded salary, making the player a UFA [CBA 12.10(a)]

Highly doubtful Blowman would elect arb -- why risk an award they get stuck with?

Is the off-season over?
- mohel

The off-season isn’t over but you missed the golden opportunity to make your roster better giving assets that could be left unprotected and allowing teams to protect what they couldn’t.

Bowman should be more aggressive.

Perhaps Stan goes in with $4.6 and sticks him with a one year deal where he can walk away? Supposedly the oaf thinks he's worth over $5, which is how Stan would do that. As long as Z comes in over $5 Stan has ways to get out of this.

Would you give up a productive player for nothing? If TBL turned down anything for Gourde, it was a mistake. The Crapen weren’t going to take Johnson and that albatross of a contract.
