Well tank wants out of there and do you see another team willing to offer a player with the caliber of JV?
If you put JV with some oire goal scorers he will look like a new man. He doesn't have that here. I'm honestly not too sure what St Louis has as far as goal scorers, but it has to be more than we have here.
St Louis looking in broken down Hank who wants out of there poor guy likes a horror check who doesn't miss many games and is in the top 10 in the league as far as Cisco over the past decade..
What better offer would they have than that? - Bob Habib
Depends on which fan of whatever team is offering for him. Have I seen other fans offer their bloated and expensive contracts in a swap for Tarensenko? Yes, I have.
But in reality why would St. Louis do that? The answer is definitely not "Tanky angry so they have no choice". |

Price is due an 11 million dollar signing bonus in September. I think that will deter Seattle from taking him.
I think Seattle just takes Braun or Hagg leaving the Flyers with no cap relief. - PLindbergh31
Hagg getting picked would make sense, depending on their selections from other teams, but Francis still needs to build a team and JvR still fits the mold of the team Francis wants to build. JvR is a lot easier to flip for assets as well to another team that the Flyers wouldn't trade him to. Hagg would basically be a 1 year depth rental. |

Sure.. leave a disgruntled player with injury issues who wants a trade back onto the ice. I am sure that will end well
Jake may be bloated but he is still a point producing machine. I feel many teams would love to have him if the contract wasn't so high
Feel free to answer who is a better trade candidate than JV anytime you Come up with an answer

Ellis has missed 79 games the last 4 seasons. He played the full schedule in 2018-2019. If he averages missing 1/4 of the season as history shows then you have a problem. If he stays healthy it’s a sound trade. You can’t continue to just stand pat with the way the last decade has gone. - PLindbergh31
Not only this but he just turned 30. It’s the same concerns when we signed Kevin Hayes where you know the player should be at least good for the first half of his deal but sooner or later age will catch up. All Ryan Ellis’ success came from his 20’s. I’m not saying this year Ellis will be bad or even the following season. I’m saying everyone slows down, hints Jake and G, which most want to move on from. Also the names of Mark Howe and Kimmo Timonen were just brought up. I know the blog says he’s not comparing him to those two players but the names still came up, which is high praise. Maybe even too high. Provorov is supposed to be our guy. Timonen was our guy who was an All-Star and connected to Norris voting most seasons. |

If they protect NAK over JVR I'd be upset. I may be in the minority but I don't want JVR to go. Tell Seattle thay if they take JV we will also trade them ghost in a side deal

Voracek has also been extremely consistent throughout his career. We are not talking Milan Lucic or James Neal here. Only a fool would throw in a 1st rounder for the Kraken to select Voracek. Oh yeah, CF - make that 2 first rounders..... - mr4tno
The idea of giving up prospects and/or draft picks to ensure a team takes a player off your hands seems like such a shortsighted, poor use of your resources. Just make your list of available players for the expansion draft using your best judgement and let the chips fall where they may. |

The last couple years of Ellis' deal could be ugly, no question. If he plays well for 4 years and stays healthy it will be good. He's a better player than Niskanen. |

I absolutely want to keep JVR. He is a good locker room presence, good for the up and coming kids (UNLIKE Jake), and still produces. Yes his cap hit would be nice off the books but in my mind he's the one you want between him and Jake.
Nobody wants anything to do with Jake from what I hear. Seattle said hell no to jake - not just the cap hit but the player. |

You could be right, but I have a feeling they take Ghost. He would be a great for a new fan base, generate some offense and QB the # 1 PP.

NHL has a cool article. They created an "NHL Expansion Draft All-Time Team". A few Flyers get the nod. Gary Dornhoefer, Joe Watson and Bernie Parent. Pretty fun list. Scotty Bowman as the coach. |

JVR is as good as gone then. If not by Seattle then I think CF has a trade ready to be announced.
It's a shane because JVR elevated his game and was much more of a complete player while also putting up points |

I don't see them wasting a pick on someone the entire league didn't want for free.
I am afraid to see JVR or Hagg go. I just cannot believe we are protecting NAK. I guess we just want to be on the PK for all of 21-22 |

I will say this. Looking at the list of non protected players, Seattle is going to be very good immediately. Just like Vegas. I hate that expansion teams are set up to be 90+ point playoff contenders in year 1. Franchises should go through growing pains. It's too easy for them to be good right away. Garbage. |

I'm glad I am not the only one who wants to keep JVR. He has really upped his game the last two seasons. I hope he remains a flyer because, as you said, he is a great locker room presence and an example to the younger kids.
Fingers crossed he is still here at the start of the season |
