misinformation -- the erroneous post was reported to the proper authorities and those who spread these lies will be hung at dawn

Pretty severe consequences. But it has been reported by multiple sources. I think misinformation is a garbage word. There is only information that you accept or reject.

well it was reported that the blues wanted myers and frost and that's a big no - so we do the deal for Ellis, ask Seattle to take Tarasenko and we trade Jake and 2nd or 3rd to Seattle for Tarasenko.

Seattle gets a productive playmaker needing a change of scenery and a pick, Blues get Tarasenko off their hands and Flyers get some scoring and earlier cap relief and a culture change.

Tarasenko apparently didn't like how the blues doctors were handling his shoulder, didnt fix it in 2 surgeries. he went outside the team, they found the problem and fixed it immediately. This gives me some hope that he feels better and can regain his form. but him playing lights out would only be icing on the cake, not even the main reason i am doing this deal to begin with.

Agree. To me this is another Umberger/Hartnell trade. We get out from a year of a large contract which is key. The potential bonus is we get a scorer that we need, but if that doesn't happen we still get rid of JV.

I don't get this culture change references. What evidence do you have that Jake was so disproportionately influential in setting the culture?

(For the rec: I would do the trade too. But for more cynical reasons)

his lacksadasical play on the ice (eye test), poor relationship with the media - he screams someone who is completely uncoachable and content with mediocrity. After all, he got paid. These aren't things you want from your highest paid players - who are absolutely going to influence your young guys on how to be a pro. And when you subtract him from the culture of the room it allows other players to step up when maybe they didn't feel like it was their place (yet) with a personality like his on the team.

Like someone posted earlier - JVR, Tarasenko, Ghost all off the books by 2023. 19 mil. Maybe give G a deal at a great discount to win. or don't. Resign Coots. G, Coots, Hayes, Ellis. Could be a worse "veteran core" to go with budding/prime Konecny, Provy, Farabee, Sanheim, Frost, York etc..

Some things were off this year, but I think making him out to be the latest Nick Zherdev reincarnation is harsh. He has committed to better 2 way play on occasion, including 2020 spring.

He is, to the best of my knowledge, a freewheeling, candid spirit with the media, and his poor relationship is confined to one guy he believes misquoted him. I could be wrong.

When Voracek signed his deal, I remember Holmgren saying " The Jake Voraceks of this world are few and far between" or words to that effect.

Btw the floater rep has been used for Tarasenko on occasion too.

So if he’s that good why are we telling him we will look to trade him if he’s not taken? Maybe something we don’t know?

Not to be negative nelly but “veteran core” of coots,g, Hayes,Ellis is fine in non cap world. If we have those 4 in 2 years assuming coots gets his 8 mil and g signs for 4-5 mil you’re looking at
Coots 8 mil
Hayes 7 mil
Ellis 6 mil
G 4/5 mil
So 25/26 mil per year for how ever long??? That’s about 30% of cap. Can NOT under any circumstance roll with that. That’s not “veteran core” that’s your main core all over 30 and declining good players that were never even elite players. You aren’t winning with that.

Now if that “veteran core” we’re about 10% maybe 15% of cap and playing secondary roles that would be fine but that’s not happening.
Hayes 7 mil
Ellis 6 mil is locked in.

So can’t really resign g

And most definitely SHOULD NOT resign coots.

Being that Hayes and Ellis are locked in isn’t it better asset management to move g this year (possibly trade deadline) and move coots which has highest trade value now at draft before teams lock up salary and make picks for the upcoming year and get something for the future?

I didn't say he is that good. I said he isn't that bad.

Why are we trading him? Contract to performance ratio, and the desire for a scapegoat, to be succinct, imo.

So per usual I get flak for saying trade coots. Do you people ever stop to think?

Sooooo next year is last year of coots/g contract. Assuming coots EXTENDED (as many seem to want) and g (by some of reasonable contract) in 2 years we will roll how many 30+ year olds assuming jvr /Jake aren’t taken in Ed or moved

G
Jake
Jvr
Hayes
Ellis
Coots

I mean am I missing anybody?

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Do you think boston fans were screeching like you are to trade Bergeron when he was 28 years old?

Ellis is not a 1st pair defenseman on a good defensive team. Would be a fine 2nd pair guy if healthy. Never once in his entire career did he finish top 20 for Norris

How does Provys potential with the right partner figure in this?

If ellis is an upgrade over Nisk, good times …

I’m fine with moving on from Giroux quite honestly. if he really wants to end his career with the flyers like he says he does can we get him for 1 mil? Otherwise thanks for everything

The concept of data decides, not people. Physical acts occur in a physical space and time. The measurement of that is data.

If they make statements about the past, then those statements are either true or false, by looking at data.

There can be mistakes about data presentation or measurement, but not about it's underlying validity.

Gotta run. 🤷

Hypothetically, if Fletcher could make ot work, if Seattle picked a healthy Price and offered to retain 50% in a trade would you have interest as a 1A/1B with Hart.

Think Price is getting exposed because he might be missing significant time with injury next season. So basically, no

So are we fine with the rumor of Seattle takes stinko in Ed and trades him to Philly for Jake + pick (not 1st rounder) and then selects hagg from philly?

I’d be fine with this for the record
