Your garbage Sheldon. Stop backtracking when your called out dissing someone for having a different opinion than yours. Being a miserable person doesn’t give you the right to come on here and belittle people. You act like a child that’s been neglected. You always come off as some intellectual but your a boring mess. - Angus4444
I love the repeated use of "your" for you are, too often to be a typo. Adorable.
Hugs and kisses to you too, pho pho. ❤️❤️

AntSanPhilly says we are getting Tarasenko for Voracek and a 2nd or 3rd then losing Hagg as their pick…. It’s happening! - Lawless18
If the doctors are convinced his shoulder is 100% then go for it. Upside is there and certainly cant be worse then JV though could be just as bad.....Been saying all along it would be HAGG or NAK....now that NAK is protected IMO it will be HAGG....Hakstol isnt going to do Flyers any favors by giving them CAP relief. Downside is if Ellis and Tarasenko are fragile and injury prone the bottom is gonna fall out |

That’s how I see it as well. If he’s healthy he can help and you’re right. He is more of a game breaker than setup guy like Jake. We have lots of setup guys I’d say. Further, tarasenko is a cup winner. More than anything it’s my belief the culture/chemistry needs a change. - Hextall271
Looking at Vlad's stats, he has 7 goals in 34 games, and 24 points altogether last 2 seasons.
Doesn't project to be too different from recent Jake stats. Just saying. 😂😂 |
|
|
|
naaa, im not nearly as negative as you. Ellis can be our 1D - bradster
Ellis is not a 1st pair defenseman on a good defensive team. Would be a fine 2nd pair guy if healthy. Never once in his entire career did he finish top 20 for Norris |

Hasn’t he been battling injuries? Obviously it’s only if he’s healthy that I’d make that trade. |

The concern is what healthy really means for a 30 year old with 3 surgeries in same shoulder over 2 years. I am not insinuating anything, its just unknown at this point I think.
Interesting if it happens. Hakstol reclaims Jake, McCrimmon reclaims NoPa... |

The FLyers protected NAK.
This hints at Seattle looking for a cheaper contract from the FLyers. So taking Hagg is a real possibility.
A cheap depth defenseman who will be a FA at the end of the season.
A contract like Hagg's is easy for Seattle to get rid of if they want to. Trade or let him walk at the end of the season.

Im still waiting for the haters of this trade...superschenn, mjl etc.... to tell me who they wouldve traded to fill our 1RHD spot if not meyers and patrick?? Ive asked a couple times, and havent heard any answers, but i do hear people complaining that meyers is really good and shouldnt have moved him.
And would it have been better to trade our 1st round pick instead of meyers? |

How much have you watch Ellis? This guy is absolutely a top pairing defensemen in this league. In addition, there are only a handful of teams that he would not be on the top pair. He was a top pair on one of the deepest defensive teams in the league. He did this for several years.
This is just negativity to be negative. Aren't the Preds one of the deepest D teams over the last several years? |

If the FLyers get Tarasenko, that means they will have expiring contracts of:
JVR
Tarasenko
Ghost
all in the summer of 2023.
That's $19 million in cap space freed up in the summer of 2023. |

Yes, yes. He would.
But I also think the biggest winner in that trade would be the Blues. |

well it was reported that the blues wanted myers and frost and that's a big no - so we do the deal for Ellis, ask Seattle to take Tarasenko and we trade Jake and 2nd or 3rd to Seattle for Tarasenko.
Seattle gets a productive playmaker needing a change of scenery and a pick, Blues get Tarasenko off their hands and Flyers get some scoring and earlier cap relief and a culture change.
Tarasenko apparently didn't like how the blues doctors were handling his shoulder, didnt fix it in 2 surgeries. he went outside the team, they found the problem and fixed it immediately. This gives me some hope that he feels better and can regain his form. but him playing lights out would only be icing on the cake, not even the main reason i am doing this deal to begin with.

I'm not talking about potential, I'm saying last year Patrick and Myers were two of the Flyers worst players. I mean, you can't possibly argue this, can you? - jd250
mjl said they werent two of the worst, im waiting to hear the extensive list on who was worse. |

So per usual I get flak for saying trade coots. Do you people ever stop to think?
Sooooo next year is last year of coots/g contract. Assuming coots EXTENDED (as many seem to want) and g (by some of reasonable contract) in 2 years we will roll how many 30+ year olds assuming jvr /Jake aren’t taken in Ed or moved
G
Jake
Jvr
Hayes
Ellis
Coots
I mean am I missing anybody?

I don't get this culture change references. What evidence do you have that Jake was so disproportionately influential in setting the culture?
(For the rec: I would do the trade too. But for more cynical reasons)

How dare he not possess successful stats in his 30s when he literally just turned 30 6 months ago can't make this poop up lol - Richieattack18
It's true. About 250 points in his 20's, but he stalled in his 30's - only 20. Definitely on the decline.... |

We’re going to have to see how it plays out but I am good with the trade. Could you imagine the uproar if nothing was done to sort out that top pair right handed d? I’d have been livid. Further, these players don’t grow on trees and you have to give to get. I really like Myers but chuck wasn’t willing to wait til ufa to maybe get a guy. He HAD to fill that void as the first priority.

I don’t even understand this conversation TBH.
It’s clear the mandate is to be aggressive some of the young players have to go to make sure we fill the gaps. 1 series win since 2012 is not acceptable and I am fine with taking action like this as long as most picks and young core are kept. |
