I don't like the length of the contract. But the FLyers desperately needed a quality vet to pair up with Provorov.

Giving up what looks like a bust and a question mark for Ellis, not bad. But the FLyers desperately needed a vet on defense.

It's a win right now. Its a good trade. Ellis is def better than Myers will ever be IMO. Patrick could be the one we regret although hard to with Coots, Hayes and Frost, someone was going to be the odd man out. Either way we filled a need

Where were his good seasons? He’s always had issues. He isn’t 22. He’s 25. I’m not worried that we just traded away a future 1B.

Agree, I think both real out and are productive. Not a fan but want to see what the long game is with CF

Because Flyers are nowhere near a contending team even if it was Makar partnering Provy. Their hope, if any (and it wasn't much) was for the future.

Josi/Ellis play against top competition. Nashville's just puts that pair out for every offensive faceoff they can because they're that good in the ozone.

He was basically Captain Canada at the World Jr’s for team Canada for awhile. With this said, not for Patrick and Myers. Most certainly not to protect JvR. This is a bad move.

He is 30 but he isnt in a decline. He is in his prime. Dmen hit their prime typically around 28.

Unforyunately you cant do anything about Patrick's trade value. Everyone should have known his value was low and moving him would be selling low based on the last 2 seasons. That is why moving him likely wasnt the best move unless he doesnt actually pan out. Still a lot of time for him to get it together. Only 22 years old.

JVR is my guess. By all accounts I’m guessing they would still like to get Jake taken in the ED

Please. Patrick is currently a 4C with head problems and Myers spent an entire season last year looking like he couldn’t handle 2nd pair duties. This is more than a fair trade.
