So Voracek is what is wrong with the Flyers so another team is going to think he's what they need? Think about what you're saying for a second.
I think you listen to different media then other people. Is there any credible source who also thinks that Fletcher has essentially confirmed that Voracek will be moved? - MJL
Vorachek cap hit compared to his impact on the team doesn't add up, but we can retain up to half. Jake at 4mil would have a market but are you willing to eat that much to make it happen? |

If Domi is going to be unprotected Fletch should get on the phone with Columbus now. Kids got a motor. Him and Laughton together would be fun to watch. |

It's not just about the cap hit it's also about the term left. Am I willing to eat half just to move Voracek? No. Would I be willing to eat salary to make a good deal to help the team. Of course.

For who? Do you consider the cap situation and what the Flyers other needs are when forming the opinion that the Flyers should pursue Domi?

I have to agree and disagree with a few here with Jake. I do not add this years first in any way to get rid of him.
I am not as concerned with replacing his production offensively as Bill may be.
If you take into account Jake’s overall play his point production to some extent is nullified by the terrible plays he makes far to frequently.
1. JV has a bad habit of blindly throwing the puck the the middle of the ice or slot area in the offensive zone that results in a giveaway.
The consequence being loss of puck possession.
2. Jake many times after turning over the puck is late getting back on counter rushes.
In turn the dmen or forwards trying to get back try and compensate for an open man thus causing a total breakdown of dzone coverage.
If a goal isn’t scored the flyers are scrambling defensively and getting caved in.
This last year was especially bad.
3. Jake is also bad with blowing the defensive zone prematurely without clear puck control. In turn with pressure the puck is turned over.
4. Has a tendency to pass up decent scoring looks.
When one of your top players will not play a team game how can you expect your younger players to listen to the coach about back checking, not turning the puck over or getting the puck deep.
If I’m a younger guy I’m thinking ok I get it but this guy does this almost every game and there isn’t much in the way of repurcussions.
I’m all for Jake being gone. If I can’t get a fair deal done he stays and I instruct my coach to enforce team philosophy with everyone.
If Jake plays lazy he comes out of the lineup.
It’s that simple. |

I'd rather have a Brandon Saad for just money and no assets other than cash. |

Domi is a UFA at the end of next season. Currently he is a $5.3 cap hit.
Columbus already has 3 first round picks this year.
Moving Jones and possibly Domi, with Laine a RFA....This is one busy summer for the Blue Jackets. |

Empty points.... Over the span of Voracek's Flyers career, he is in the top 15% of the league in terms of points percentage tied to the first goal, tying goal, go-ahead and/or game-winning goal.
Again, I have no problem with the Flyers moving on from Voracek. But he's been a
legitimately good offensive player here. He isn't a perfect player. There are very few of those. - bmeltzer

I would say otherwise. When you look at the team's needs. Biggest need is a RH defenseman. Second is a solid backup goaltender. Third in my view would be a center and then fourth, would be possibly another defenseman. All of that would come before as you put it, a forward with a 5.3M cap hit to play on the 3rd line with Laughton. Not to mention the number of solid forward prospects the Flyers have in the pipeline. That would leave me to think that in my opinion, going after Domi was not a well thought out premise when considering all of the factors. |

There are numerous options out there that are better options if they're looking for a 3rd line forward.

Honestly he is worth more than 4 mil over 3 year. You could probably hold 3 mil and get a fair trade |

Projection is with #Flyers moving Nolan Patrick, they will now have the ability to protect James van Riemsdyk. Pretty big change for #SeaKraken in last few minutes. |

Can confirm the reports that the Flyers acquired Ellis for Myers & Patrick. Believe it's the whole deal.
Ellis had a down season in 2020-21 and battled injury. But prior to that, he was one of the best RHD d-men in hockey. Severely underrated, in my eyes. Fantastic play-driver. |

Can’t wait for all those who hated the idea of the Flyers trading for Ellis to now like the trade. |

I don't mind what we gave up but by trading one RHD for another, we still have a hole on RHD. Hopefully one of Larrson, Manson or Risto is the plan for 2RHD. |
