I’m hearing Seattle wants nothing to do with Jake. So I am not counting on that at all.
I don’t think they will waste a pick on Ghost when no one even wanted him for free.
I think Braun is too old/not what they are looking for.
I think Hagg or NAK are the most likely to get picked. |

i dont pay attention toanything you say. You always go with stats and numbers and ignore the eye test. so we always see things differently - bradster
My dear man, based on what you say above, that too in today's age, not only is your inattention much appreciated, its continuation is heartily wished for.

It’s not a question of how good he is. He’s 30 and he’s not going to be in the line up every night…although we should be concern with that defensive even strength rating. |

I’ll wait and see how this trade pans out.
For this be a solid trade Ellis needs to stay healthy.
Nashville is usually pretty good at developing dmen so I can see Meyers becoming a solid 2nd pairing guy.
I don’t hate Patrick and hope he can become a respectable player.
If Ghost or Haag get taken CF will have to do some dealing.
I still don’t trust CF’s trades yet. |

My last comment on the day for the day is this.
Just remember that Patrick reportedly wanted out of Philly. Forget where he was drafted and look at his production, his health issues, and the fact he reportedly wanted out. The fact they were able to get a 30 yr old top pair D man with term in exchange for Patrick and a struggling Myers is pretty damn good considering the price we’ve seen for top pairing D men ever since Pronger went down…

no doubt he is a good D, if he stays healthy he will be a good add. Losing the youth was the cost, you hope CF has another move or two. They still have all their picks, they still have nice pieces in the system, it will be an interesting end to July for sure.

If he can’t play for an extended period time, you always wonder who replaces him and this player can always be the difference between winning and losing. |

Apparently Dave Poile knows a lot less about hockey than a bunch of Flyers fans.
This trade is a gamble all around, motivated by cap considerations for some and desperate need for others.
I think that on a solid D corps with less responsibility and pressure Myers will become a solid 3/4 defender and a valuable RHD. Under Niskanen's mentorship and with responsible forward play in 19-20 he was showing great promise.
Who knows if Patrick will ever be 100% again, but if he is, Vegas will be regarded as the winner of this trade. I don't think nobody knows if he will be out of hockey or a 2C/3C in two years. |

He generally does not make good trades -- I think that this is one of those cases |

He is better than Niskanen.
But wait till he plays on a D that is not the perpetual stud D that Nashville churns out. |

ghost not getting claimed last year had nothing to do with no one wanting him. Its was the stretch drive for the playoffs and only a few teams could afford him without trading someone was also part of the issue

Man this is a miserable board anymore..........This is a good day for Philly. We got a true top line RHD, kept our first round pick, Didnt get rid of any top prospects (I loved Myers potential but they could not wait through the learning curve) and Nolan is best with a new slate - Wish him the best, but at the days end giving up Myers who we signed as an FA and Patrick for one of the best possible available RHD's available - Jones was a nice option but seemed we were giving up more than that for him and likely just for a single year. I'm personally thrilled with this. |
