I’ve never heard anything negative about Giroux. Even at 33 , I think he is capable of putting up 60-70 points. I’d love to have him on my team. An incredible talent and character guy.

Those comments were made without regard to money. If Fletch wants to take half of that…yeah I’d buy a year of that.

Do you think Giroux's next contract is going to be the same or higher or something? It's obvious if and when he resigns it will be significantly cheaper than his current deal and shorter term.

We can agree to disagree cause I think it is a big problem when NONE of your veteran leaders play a physical game. When all your veteran leaders have never been physical players that's a problem in my eyes. Yeah, Giroux and Voracek have put up pretty numbers in some years, but in reality what did it add up to? Nada!! This group has collectively achieved nothing and it's time to change it up. Just my .02.........this past year's Flyers team was the softest Flyers team in their history. It's actually unreal that 3 of their biggest forwards(Voracek, JVR and Hayes) don't play a physical game. In fact, one could argue that they play a passive game.

Couturier plays a physical game. I agree that they were a soft team last year.

I don’t know about the reliability about anyone here. But if you reveal sources without their knowledge, they’re no longer sources.

There definitely is a pessimistic crew. I think they'll make some moves and I think last year was an outlier. I think their young players are better than they showed last year.
- MJL

I think in some case you're right about the Flyers young players, for example I still believe in Hart, Sanheim and TK, and I believe Farabee is showing he is the real deal. However there are some young players here that are just not going to get it IMO, that includes Myers, Patrick, Bunnaman and NAK. I liked what I saw from Zamula and York, so I have hopes they will continue to develop, and of course I am really looking forward to seeing where Frost and Foerster end up this season. My fingers are crossed that O'Brien continues his growth, and it will be nice to see how Attard develops also.

Now I have to come clean. After this article came out yesterday, I must tell you all the truth. I am really Chuck Fletcher

I think, especially in this cap era, the only way Giroux sticks around is if he agrees to a team friendly deal. He is not a $6M+ player anymore, and cap space for all teams is at a premium right now. Players are going to have to take less anyway. For me, if Giroux wants to play for about what Couturier is making now, I would be more than happy to keep him. As I have posted before, I would rather win a Cup with Giroux than without him. He is a class act!

I need Sanhiem to take another step this year. Idk if it was just trying to do too much while playing with the skating bonehead that is Phil Myers or what but he looked completely lost at times last year.

York and Frost are the kids I’m highest on. Foerester for kids outside the NHL.

Yes, I think that is true for several of the Flyers' younger players. Hart, Sanheim and TK have to have better seasons, there is no two ways about it. And yes, I think anyone playing with Myers would have been negatively impacted last year, he was just really, really bad!

I’m not as high on Sanheim as you are. I don’t think he is a consistent player at all. Some nights he shows why he was a 1rst round pick, other nights he is brutal. But as young players, that type of un even play is going to happen. To me, this is a big year for some of those guys you mentioned. I still think and hope Fletch has a “couple” of big moves up his sleeve, but unless some of the youth plays much better this year then this team won’t get to that next level….to me it starts with Hart.

agreed, sandheim and TK need to step it up. It was unacceptable last year, its not like there were rookies, and covid isnt an excuse, everyone dealt with it. They arent rookies, they need to play well consistantly or find skaters that will

when is being a young player no longer an excuse? 3 years? 4 years in? Meyers is 24, Sandheim 25. Seth Jones is 26 and hasnt been called young in years

Oh absolutely they are better than that!! Last year was the exception, imo. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. I expect a big difference this upcoming season with normal practice and normal routines again

Bunnaman and NAK are 4th line talents. You'll be changing your mind about Myers just as you did with Farabee.

Your comment about being Fletcher doesn't make any sense.

I have zero interest in paying a 34-35 year old g anything more than 1-2 mil 1 year deal to be a complete role player on philly team.
