It will be rather interesting to see all the teams actual lists and how many surprises they contain.

who do you hope they lose? what would hurt the most
Carter, Mccann, Zucker
Matheson, Petterson, is Marino not available to the ED?

Frost being capable of playing center in the middle six this year would be huge for this lineup.
JVR gone in ED.
Bee - Couts - TK
G - Frost/UFA - Allison
Laughton - Hayes - Jake
Lindblom - NoPa - NAK
TK on top line because he needs to get going, and everyone benefits from playing with Couts. For the sake of past chemistry, I'd like to see G & Frost together, same with Laughton & Hayes. Granted that chemistry could now be considered old, and possibly expired, but still. |

So first off if correct, they are exposing Jarry. And yeah, I think McCann, Aston-Reece, Matheson and Petterson would all be exposed.
IDK, it’s interesting though.
Edit: yes, Marino is exempt. |

More and more I’m thinking they should move up this draft for one of the top 5 D men available. The options that seem to be available via trade or FA are just not worth it.
Our 1st and Patrick to move up and pick up an extra 3rd or future 2nd. I think I’d be ok with that. - hereticpride
Most listings that I see have Power, Hughes, Clarke and Edvinson going in the top 15. So If they have their eye on whoever the #5 guy is, chances are he’s there without moving up. |

I hope so. Early on I saw the top 5 D men all off the board by 9 or 10. |

I think there's a good chance he gets moved. Won't put odds on it, but I think the Flyers' viewpoint is that they aren't giving him away from nothing (Expansion Draft) but they are certainly open to dealing him. - bmeltzer
NoPa is a tough case. Based on his health issues and predominantly lousy play when he was healthy, he's probably not going to fetch any more than a 2nd or 3rd round pick. The question is: should they move him for next to nothing, or should they wait and see if he can begin to put his game together at the NHL level and approach his capabilities?
I tend to be in the wait and see category, though I certainly understand the alternative if the Flyers believe they can get a 3C through the farm or in the open market via FA or through a trade.

Would be nice if the could somehow double up two wingers in a trade for a solid middle six center. I have questions about Frost holding up at center at the NHL level. |

Yeah, at least to this point, that seems to be a legit concern. Hopefully he enters this upcoming camp/season fully healthy and we get a better feel for what he is.
If Frost in not an NHL center and NoPa completely flames out, that would be huge blows to this organ I zation |

Kind of what I'm thinking, but I also don't want him keeping a roster spot from a player that can actually contribute at a high level. This is what makes him such a difficult situation. |

I don't think we have a choice, and i don't think he is stopping anyone from coming up, unless foerster or desnoyer is ready

If he stays, let's hope he wakes up and finds his game. That could be about the best case scenario for him and the Flyers. |

Outside of Power, probably none of those guys will be ready for another 2-3 seasons.
Heck, Power might even return to Michigan.
And IIRC, only Brandt is RH. |

I can't think of another team that would give a 2nd for him anyway. If he's a bust after this year, just let him go. This is his last chance, I think. |

What does he need to do to have what we would call a successful season......40 points? 15-25?

Yeah, could be a poopshow. Really hoping Hayes' injury caused his poor play, and he bounces back. If not, then they're screwed anyway...
In my very limited viewing of Allison, the one thing that stood out the most was his solid decision making & positioning. Seemed to be in the right place at the right time quite often. I just thought that Frost could benefit from a player like that on his wing as opposed to Jake |

First off, don't be a -33 in 56 games! I'll take 30 or 40 points but mostly I think we need to see his overall play improve significantly. Stop being a perimeter only player who disappears for 10 or 15 games like he's not even on the team. Maybe that's just hesitancy because of his migranes. |

He certainly does. Let's hope he takes a bigger step this year, though I think he'll start out slow after missing the entire season earlier this year. |

I can't imagine the anxiety for players during this expansion draft. Draft is bad enough but imagine if your boss' boss, who may or may not know you very well, could move you on a whim to a completely different part of the country? Add that to the trade scenarios normally swirling around the draft and free agency and I'd be having heart palpitations. - FlyersGrace
Those heart palpitations would stop the second you walked into a bank to cash your check. |
