So you think NoPa would pass through waivers unclaimed?
- Djapana

Ooh he is no longer waiver exempt is he. You got me there. Strike that thought.

No chance of that happening...same as Flyers unloading JV without CAP retention.Zero Chance on both

Only way i go for Tarasenko is if they take jake or jvr and seattle takes the other. But its gotta be big contract for big contract. I cant see anyone giving up picks or prospects for him, but ive been surprised before.

I agree.

So when we do, in fact, sign Suter... I'm more concerned about where he slots in as opposed to contract length and term. Still would need that top pair guy, right? What am I missing???

Tarasenko for Voracek.
Parayko for Ghostisbehere.

Money is essentially even.

If I was Fletcher, I'd be on the phone right now.....

- Nh_kong

Yeah and Blues would laugh at both offers... Ghost is out there for free if anyone wants him and why do people believe that JV actually has any trade value at 8.25M???...He is a 15 goal scorer who doesnt play defense and accumulates lots of secondary PP assists. No team is taking on that CAP HIT

Taken in a vacuum, would you have considered Niskanen a top pair guy? Or was he a perfect partner for Provorov?

I could see Suter filling that Niskanen void in a few different ways.

So you think that Larsson is in his prime and his best days aren't behind him? Is Larsson going to play in the top 4? Who is the PP QB?
- MJL

Adam Larsson is in his prime. He is 28 years old, and a solid top 4 defenseman that will provide the physical edge I believe this Flyers defense needs. I don't expect him to be a PP QB, which is why I think the Flyers need to bring in another defenseman for that role. All along I have been consistent that the Flyers IMO need to bring in 2 top 4 defenseman to play with Provorov and Sanheim. Then let York and whoever is left fight it out for the bottom 3 spots.

If, and its a big if, the Flyers medical staff checked out Tarasenko and viewed him 100% healthy then I would trade our #1 pick for him. Chances of getting someone who is going to be a difference maker at 13 is slim. If Tarasenko is healthy he can be a 30 goal scorer and the sniper we desperately need. Trade #1 and a B prospect for Vlad and 1.5-2M Blues Cap retention. He is only 29 and a big power fwd who can score

Shell of himself is a tad harsh imo.
- PT21

Maybe, but how would you describe a player that put up 50 points in 82 games, then got hurt and now is lucky to achieve 50% of that production?

The ire that I will have for Fletcher if he would make that trade would be unprecedented.
- MJL

I'm right with you. You don't trade these assets for a guy who is a shell of his former self. I honestly don't think Fletcher is that dumb. Now Jake for Tarasenko straight up, I would at least consider that trade.

tarasenko-no
jones-no

sign landeskog to huge deal
sign Hamilton

hopefully seatle takes Jake and ghost

only blockbuster trade id be in on would be for eichel

- mydoglicks

I have big concerns about Landeskog. First of all, Colorado is close. They are a true contending team that might need a tweak or two to get over the hump. Why would they let their team captain of all people go to free agency? Isn't this a sign they are ready to move on from him? Plus the guy is only 28 and put up almost 1 point a game this year playing with McKinnon and Rantanen. There is something not right here.

Not. A. Chance!
The whole "send him to the AHL" thing is impossible unless you want to give him away for nothing.
At which point CF is done

Another crap season and he'll be passing thru waivers as easily as Sam Morin.

I honestly don't watch enough Wild games to know the answer to that question. On the occasions I have watched he looks alright to me.

But looking at his stats, it looks like that season (16-17) and the truncated one after were anomalies. He has returned to his average of about 30 points a season pace. His possession stats seem largely stable in the regular season, but in the playoffs it seems he was eaten up by VGK.

That settles it. I want him, partnering Ghost.

Of course, so the Flyers crash and burn and you get your rebuild. Not going to happen, Fletcher values his career more than you think.

LTIR, and has a year less on his contract, and if his shoulder turns out ok, you have a good scorer

LTIR is not what everyone thinks it is. It can cause future cap issues.

That's a good point but Nisky was younger (only a few years but still) and a recent Cup winner. Suter is 36 and left handed. I don't see him as the answer.

He's at the tail end of his prime. He is a solid RH defender and will help defensively and on the PK. He can be a complimentary player to play with Provorov and would help but he is not an ideal to pairing defenseman. If the price is right I would consider it but I think they might have difficulty adding two top 4 defenseman.

id still do it, i dont overvalue our players, and know their worth. If tarasenko was healthy, its a no brainer, the only risk is that he could be hurt. Heck most people want to lose JAke for nothing, count on being a better team just from subtracting him, and im on that boat also.

This team is not in a spot where they should be taking on question marks. I love the idea of swapping a playmaker for a shooter but the risk is too high in my opinion.

Explain “big concerns.” He doesn’t appear to be in decline, no durability issues. He is a captain and quality player. Is the concern just because Colorado hasn’t worked a deal yet?

id take him, i think he is a perfect fit. He can still be good for another 5-6 years before he shows noticable decline
