Eh? Dumba is 26. - PT21
Yes, but he is a shell of himself since his injury. I believe his best seasons are behind him, similar to Ghost. |

Nope, Larsson is a FA and I still want him. And regarding Ekholm, I say no on him if the Flyers sign Larsson, because I do think the Flyers need a PP QB in their top 4 given I believe Ghost is gone and York will most likely need more time to develop. - jd250
So you think that Larsson is in his prime and his best days aren't behind him? Is Larsson going to play in the top 4? Who is the PP QB?

I don't know the full extent of Tarasenko's shoulder injury but let me speak from experience. I separated my shoulder when I was playing high school hockey. I went to the hospital and they put it back into place and told me I needed surgery. I opted to have the surgery, but my shoulder kept popping out.
They gave me another surgery, this time they put two pins in my shoulder. It still kept popping out. I seen another surgeon and he said that my two previous operations were incorrect, he wanted to operate and make it so my arm couldn't go above chin level. I declined, just can't play competitive hockey anymore so I focused on coaching. I was told there's pretty much nothing left but some scar tissue separating bone to bone in my shoulder.
Shoulder injuries are very serious and can absolutely kill a career. It sounds like Tarasenko has already had a bad surgery and is still having issues. I'd stay away from acquiring him even if we dump a salary in the deal. I also hope Frost has a successful recovery and is ready to advance his career this season. - dubc55
Thank you. This makes me want him even more. Its gonna be feast or famine with him. If the latter, we crash, burn, purge, renew.

Shell of himself is a tad harsh imo. |

I lived in StL for 9 years and saw Tank grow up from prospect to a 40 goal scorer. He’s not the same player after the injuries.
Can he still put up 40? I’m not sure. The years he scored a ton his shot was insane, he always found a way to get into an open space and score. But you could see he didn’t want to play much D. Not saying he can’t, but it was pretty often by the eye test he had sheltered minutes in the O zone. |

All the proposed deals I see put forth by the hockey writers involve picks and prospects going the other way for Tarasenko. I don't think trying to to trade Voracek straight up would be realistic if the writers have any idea what they are talking about.
The Athletic had the Flyers offering Myers and Frost in a potential deal.

I'm sure we're kicking the tires on Suter but is it a legit possibility? LHD I believe. Is he top pair material still? Veteran guy would help Provy. - cdearth23
Cap space is obviously finite. I’d rather move Suter down and pair him with Myers, play Sanheim with Hagg/Braun and still get that top flight guy to play with Provy.
Don’t know if that’s possible financially. |

No..Why would St louis want JV unless Flyers retain 3M...Blues could fill 2 positions with that 8.25M rather then take a 1 dimensional aging player |

I’d say he’s legitimately better than at least 4 of our D men still. He’s old tho and really nothing more than a bandaid. Anything more than a two year deal would be absurd.
He should just go chase a cup elsewhere imo. - hereticpride
I imagine that is what he’s going to do.

Lol
If he and parise want to win. I can easily see them both going to Tampa, Toronto, avs, or vegas on cheap deals. Maybe even the pens. Maybe Lou sells the isle. |

Does Vegas have space? I think Avs have bigger plans. Signing Suter might mean Tampa can let McDonagh go. He would be a great pick up for Toronto too.
It might be Parise who goes to Isles, to be part of Lou's reclamation projects.

They should have space after unloading a goalie, but i still think they want a center

ok.
I wonder what the Isles are up to. Two years in a row they have suffered imo in their playoff against Tampa by not having a really good puck moving D man in their blueline. Their D seems a bit old fashioned for today's game. Is Lou retreading style as well as personnel?
Leddy has 1 year left. I would think they would benefit enormously if they can rid his salary and sign someone like Hamilton. Young team, by and large and that would galvanize them. |

I can’t imagine Fletcher would even entertain that trade scenario. That would completely set us back. |

Haha.. Myers and Frost for Tarasenko.
If that happens then everyone currently involved in Flyers management should be fired. |

They totally used Frost because he too is coming off a shoulder injury. It’s only fair! 😂 |

I don't think Fletcher, if he plans to, can make any big deals until after the expansion draft unless he is moving out a big cap number. I know you can go 10% over the cap in offseason but I would think he wants to see if Seattle takes a contract like Voracek or van Reimsdyk first. Just my thinking.
And i could not see any way he moves Myers and Frost for Tarasenko. I think some hockey people are overreacting to his down year. I also saw one mock draft having the Flyers take a goalie in round one as he said "they have to look at getting a goalie as Hart struggled and maybe he might not be the guy"
Like Flether said, you can't overreact to last season.

Just for discussion, what are people thinking in regards to a back up/partner goalie. There are some interesting guys that could be available. Holtby possibly in Vancouver. Bishop in Dallas. Koskinen in Edmonton. Could Fluery be available as a partner for Hart for one season? |
