The fact that you have Schwartz valued equally to Couturier is all we really need to know about your argument. Whether you like it or not Couturier is a top line center in the NHL.
- mickel25

I don’t have them valued the same. It was just an example. The poster was implying coots could bring so much more. Which sorry not true.

So just throwing this out there… suter/parise buyouts are prime example of things that will happen over next few weeks and shows how easy it is to move Jake. Teams are going to be moving and making many deals and transactions

You need to take a time out or something, the posts are just getting more and more ridiculous. Go get some fresh air

And again what do you think coots would fetch?

Also if WE were the team acquiring coots what would we give up? Not talking coots 5 years ago. Talking knowing his pending contract and age and all

Would you give up tk or farabee plus the 13th pick this year plus Myers or sanheim or York and give coots that long term huge $ contract?

So we need wingers that can score…
We need players with physical play..
We need d help….
We need young assets to add to young core..

Tuch on pace 30 goals in middle 6 role on Vegas. Young. No high contract
Surely he checks no boxes we need(laughable actually)

1st round pick surely checks none of the boxes we need(we never need to keep adding young higher round picks)(again laughable)

Young d prospect surely also does not check any box we need ( totally laughable) we need d and can always have extra d. Can never have enough d they say

Astounding the average philly fan

Yes better idea let’s keep 200,000 miles on body almost 30 year old average 76 point career high 3 years ago ex selke finished an amazing 15th this year and sign him him to 6-7-8 year deal 8+ mil per year.

Honestly can’t make this up

I understand buying out Parise but if I’m the Wild, I’d see through Suter’s deal. Ryan Suter has been a contender for the Norris a couple times on a Wild team that’s done themselves no favors to help themselves get over the hump.

Even better. After signing coots extend g and roll with g Jake coots Jvr AND GHOST. let the young guys coming up that need contract walk because we want the older core.

They only bought out suter to protect another d in Ed. Don’t think it was a knock on suter. Just not giving up the youth. Unlike philly who prefers the older players appearantly

I just wonder if there was a deal to be had there. I think I would go Jake for Suter. I understand Suter has more term but at least he’s reliable.

I think I would have too. The only real savings happens in year one. They do open an entry draft protection spot though. So I guess that is something.

Personally with 4 years left I’d pass. But I’m all for either going young or elite suter is neither anymore. Now if can sign him for like 2 mil per year that’s different. But that’s not happening

How in the world does those buyouts show you its easy to move Jake..If anything it shows you how impossible its going to be without some serious salary retention.

He's pretty steady, could bring him in to anchor the 2nd-pair. Then work around that (Sanheim up with Provorov, for example).
- Tomahawk

Sure but at what cost and term. If their moving someone such as Sanheim to acquire a top RH defenseman than he could be an option as a short term stop gap at the right price and term.

Exactly. You just laid out a very good summary for the inadequacy of core.

And yet, and yet, you want to "shake up the mix".

Usually shakeups happen around the core not within it; all, or at least most of the core, usually stays unchanged.

So tell me why a shakeup around the core would alter what you have persuasively summarized as a not good enough core? You said you don't understand people who don't put any faith in shakeups/change of mix. Well, your own words will tell you why we think that is the case.

- PT21

In pro sports, the core evolves and changes over time. Sometimes gradually as young players mature and older players are gradually phased out.

So it doesn't update automatically? Super weird.

Your Internet voice is very young. Unlike Claudefather - almost the same age as you, who I used to think was an embittered 65 year old man with sun-parched skin who owns a lot of guns, a Town Car with a flag, and who insisted his bloody mary be made with clamato juice when he went weekly to Atlantic City.

The seismic shock for me was to find out MJL was 55+. For a decade+ I thought he was some teenager/young twenties dude working off some steam. It (frank)ing' floored me, man.

Wow!! MjL is 55 +. That’s nuts. God bless him.

Just FYI -

Hockey is primarily an anaerobic sport and secondarily aerobic. https://bshockey.com/is-h...key-aerobic-or-anaerobic/

Things like high intensity interval training are the main methods of training. Think wind sprints, weight lifting, medicine balls, etc. In fact, I was told by a trainer that specializes in hockey players (while I was training) to avoid things like long distance running or biking because that don't train the body properly for the anaerobic process.

You continually embarrass yourself when you talk about people as if you know them. You are inaccurate here. It's quite evident in how I live rent free inside your head for as many times as you frequently make reference to me.

He said he is in his fifties in 2019, and he has also said he is not quite a boomer. Boomers means he would turn 57* this year. So, between 52-57 to be precise.

Ok, fine, call it what you like, but other than baseball, I cannot think of any sports relying on unaerobic exercise where guys look so normal.

I would think Soccer is unaerobic too, and so is Football. But their bodies (except for the Football linemen and qb and soccer goalie) are very different.
