You make it sound like its easy to get an average #1C. Draft, no guarantees anyone will be as good as Coots. FAs? What FA are available this year or next to replace Coots? Most teams lock up the #1C before they become a FA. - bradster
Couturier would bring back a large haul. I would suggest at least an “A” prospect, beyond what the Flyers have, along with a decent young player currently playing in the League along with a high draft pick. The only way this happens is if Coots has pulled a Seth Jones and privately told Fletch he’s not ready to sign….all I’ve heard is that it’s the opposite. |

Wild are buying out Suter and Parise per Michael Russo.
WOW! What a waste those two turned out to be.
$14mil in dead cap space between the two in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. Ouch - mickel25
Suter can still play. Off to tampa for league minimum.

Giroux isn’t the problem…..not sure he’s part of the answer long term at this point, but I’d rather see others held accountable rather then our captain. |

I hope you are correct….let’s hope Fletch can get this team headed in the right direction. - landros 2
Fletcher I believe will have the cap space, assets and available players to make significant changes and turn this thing around. But as always, it comes down to whether or not Fletcher and his staff make the right decisions in terms of picks, trades and FA signings. We have debated whether drafting high matters or not, but no matter where you draft, or what you spend, it always comes down to the decisions you make. Tampa's GMs and staff made the right decisions and that is why they are now a 2 time Cup champion, lets hope that Fletcher and his staff do the right things for the Flyers. This is absolutely the most important off-season in Chuck Fletcher's executive career IMO. |

At the end of the year I beleive he said he wants to stay here….but it’s a business…blah, blah, blah….maybe I’m wrong….wouldn’t be the first time.

If G was making what Couts is making now, no one would be complaining. Look G and Couts will swap contracts next year and rightly so, and they will be fine. If G wants more, he can walk! The Flyers will move on just fine without him. |

That’s why I’ve said for the last few years one of the biggest needs is a true 1c it’s a hole that needs to be filled. And a key hole. I’ve been in favor of trading the core from a few years ago as it was always a 10 year rebuild. You have to turn roster over a few times. You have to use assets to better the team for future until it’s go time. Hexy was fired at worst time. Like he said he wasn’t making moves because the time wasn’t right. He was proven 100% correct by WHATS happened last 2 years and now we see what going in scotts direction brings. Hexy was right that hart wasn’t fully ready to come up. Hexy was right that changing coach was going to change things in the grand scheme. Who knows hexy probably would’ve fired hak after season. Who knows what moves he would’ve made but he was correct. He was clearly building for future still and we changed course. Now we’re in position we have to change course and the assets (vets) bring little value. 🤷♂️That’s the exact position you don’t want to be in. It’s puts your rebuild back a few years. And for what ? 1 playoff series win? Cool. The funny things is now more than likely to attain the key assets needed 1c/1d you have to move YOUNGER assets that built up and probably can’t include older assets as we have none really of value. 🤷♂️ |

i know people want this to happen, but it's not necessarily true. if giroux has a good year he's not going to take a 4M paycut. |

The effort is always, has always and will always be there. To me that’s all you can ask of a player. I don’t always see the same buy in or passion from some others. I’m not sold on re signing him just yet, but Giroux isn’t near the front of the line for guys I would like to see given a change of scenery. |

I think we need a change of culture here, and that alone is a reason to move on from Jake. To me it doesn't matter if he still puts up some points. After last year, constant blow outs, Oskar having to do his own fighting, Scotty getting dumped on his head. No response from anyone. It wasn't just how bad they were playing, but them just mailing it on and not even competing. Need roster changes regardless of how good people think jake is offensively - bradster
A change in culture happens by becoming a better team. If we can move Voracek and become a better team without hurting the cap in the future, I'm all in. I'm not all in for some perceived blanket culture change.

It is a big offseason for him. There are only so many chances guys get in that position…I’m on the fence at this point. I want to hold judgement until I see what he does. |
