So had my second vax yesterday, felt great, great bbq’d burgers, one 6 oz glass of wine and woke up this morning felling like I drank 3 bottles. Very sore arm.
Just received a note from CaptEO that Adam French had a stroke on Sunday, 4hrs after his second shot. He is stable in a hospital in Ottawa.
Glad to hear he is doing well, he has been a long time contributor to HB. |

I felt a little rough after my second shot. Not sure who Adam French is but hope him the best. At this point, it's mostly the anti-vaxxers who are dying. Natural selection. |

I believe if you read the story again, Larionov did not want them to pay to the corrupt system. Not all on the Canucks. - onesmallleap
May not be all on the Canucks, but it still is a Canuck like thing that has added to the "folklore" that this team has always "enjoyed"... |

Wow, terrible to hear, I have read lots of his articles on HB. I hope he can recover fully.
My whole family is booked for our 2nd shot this Friday...didn't need to hear this. |

True, there will be side effects with some people, but that is with all vaccines not just covid.
I wrestled with posting, because this would be a “told you so” from anti anything, but I thought most here know of Adam, been blogging for years, more in past years though. |

People get adverse reactions from the flu shot, very low percentages.
I have a sore arm and dry, pasty mouth, I couldn’t live with the possible alternatives if I didn’t get the shot. |

it seems that the mainland is a bit more up to speed on the vaccination front as i got my second a little before canada day. i had no reaction aside from a bit of a sore arm. weirdly, i had a stronger reaction to the first dose (sore arm for more days and fatigue the day after.)
i'm really saddened to hear about frenchie. he's an AWESOME guy and a wealth of knowledge on hockey especially russian players and leagues. i'm pretty sure he lived there as well for some time and would give regular updates on what was happening over there hockey wise.
he's also a member of the LNDT. if you're a member, you know what it means. he's also a not bad player of online risk (the board game.)
thoughts and well wishes for a speedy recovery to him. hopefully, he comes back soon to class this joint up. |

Any opinion in here opens us up to "I told you so".
I had friends have the same reaction as you. A few of them recommended a weed gummy to minimize the effects. Some people feel rough after the flu shot. The sacrifices we pay to help protect our friends, family and neighbours.

it totally has a typical canuck luck feel to it.
from what i remember, both larionov and pat quinn were adamantly opposed to giving money to the russian federation. had pat quinn (the team) paid, he would have stayed put but ideologically, i think both the team and larionov didn't want to enrich the soviets any further. |

He did a lot of prospects stuff, international tournaments etc. he was/is also quite popular in the discussion threads, likes to engage with the masses.
Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Ken Holland said "very slim" chance that Klefbom see's action next season.
I guess if Seattle doesn't select him, Oilers will get to use him in the playoffs.
They found out last season they could get in without him.
So it begins. |

I’ve read that he has arthritis in his shoulders? I’m assuming that limits a lot of his shoulder workouts and also makes him pretty vulnerable to injuries. Don’t see him being able to miss 2 straight regular seasons and then jumping into playoff action with that condition. |

I don't think the oilers can expose him. As per NHL.com
Players with potential career-ending injuries who have missed more than the previous 60 consecutive games (or who otherwise have been confirmed to have a career-threatening injury) may not be used to satisfy a team's player exposure requirements unless approval is received from the NHL. Such players also may be deemed exempt from selection.
So ya, it begins
