Parise is a W
Both Americans, those guys typically sign down south unless there’s no interest or unless overpaid - Nucker101
Watch them sign league minimums with tampa, Parise to score 20 goals and suter to have a great season as a bottom pairing defenseman on a stacked team. |

that would be awesome. add in a three-peat and it would be perfect just to hear all the crying from all the whiney little emos. "oooh, that's not fair." "they're a bunch of cheaters." "but what about integrity."
it's fun hearing losers cry about winning. |

I have always been opposed to the cap, so this gives me even more arguments for when those that think it is necessary, I will throw this whole ltir and differences in state/provincial taxes, all of which the whole purpose of the cap was supposed to be about, an even playing field.
This whole buying players on injured reserve is ridiculous. |

every team is governed by the same rules. if teams take advantage of the rules, i have no problem with it.
what i have a problem with is when the league (or any organization) unevenly enforces the rules. that's BS. that's why i really disliked the luongo rule.
with the cap (though i have philosophical objections to that as well), the LTIR BS has been used by several teams. the league seems to allow it. i have no problem with TB doing it just like i didn't when VAN did.
if TB did but NYI got punished for doing the same thing, that would be totally different. but in today's NHL, most teams use this creative bookkeeping. tb did nothing that other teams haven't done before (and still do.) the only difference is in degree. |

I'm just glad Van isn't in their cup window yet. There might be a lot more whining around here if people thought we were getting robbed |

Not to mention Tampa was one of only 2 teams to vote to have the rules changed after Chicago beat them in 2015. |

the real funny thing is that no one would object if louie miraculously went on LTIR.
then, i suspect the issue wouldn't be so contentious. |

Agreed. As long as everybody gets the same rules, can you blame a team for stretching them to the max? |

under the salary cap, there are only a few ways that big market clubs can use their obvious monetary advantages. LTIR and organizational (front office personnel/development programs etc.) depth are the two best ways to utilize the advantage.
it's never going to be a completely fair world. need to utilize advantages when possible. |

The league (32 owners) own the cup, they can give it to anyone they want. Imagine how many times we would of won if Aquilini wasn't such a douche bag. - A_SteamingLombardi
Francesco Aquilini is a huge reason why the Canucks will never win a Stanley Cup under their family ownership. To me, for whatever that’s worth, it’s reminiscent of the Charles Wang ownership of the Islanders. Continually getting in his own way despite good opportunities through the draft to be a good team.
Until the Canucks ownership changes hands, much like you saw on Long Island, you’re all going to be disappointed for a very long time. |

This is very true.
Remember that list of longest tenured GMs with the worst records? Garth snow (who was named GM when he was still a player haha) was better than JB. |

Very poopty to hear about Adam. Used to have some great times on here with him back in the day.
I've also felt some pooptiness from the second shot. Splitting headache, chills, nausea. - golfingsince
