All the good picks, and none of the bad ones lol. You can't blame a simple amateur scout for the organizations poor scouting and drafting under Mike Gillis FFS...Mike Gillis was in charge and had final say, just like Jim Benning does - LeftCoaster
For a guy that claims to be intelligent, you really aren’t that smart. 🤷♂️ |

That's on Luongo, he wanted to retire instead of go on LTIR, despite having hip issues. He screwed both the Canucks and to a lesser extent Florida. - LeftCoaster
I believe retirement was the only way he could work for the team directly. He could likely have gone to work for the league while on LTIR (a la Pronger), but I believe an active player can’t be on a team’s non player staff. |

All of them still playing fairly well, Crosby is still one of the better players in the league. - LeftCoaster

Thomas Grading and Ron Delorme and Lars Lindgren aren't director of amateur scouting either, yet we're the driving force in the scouting and selection of both Elias Petterson and Nils Hoglander.
If Brackett was in charge of scouting the American kids(he was), in his earlier days, and came up with the Schroeder and Labate etc, that he would have recommended, as it was his scouting area, then I would say he failed.
Now, I am sure one of the Brackett cum-guzzlers will say how about Demko, which all I can say is, even I wanted the kid back then, as I had read nothing but good things about him. - Reubenkincade
I think he’s an excellent scout, just like I think Jim Benning is an excellent scout, and Judd bracket will do well in his role in Minnesota. Do I think bracket and Benning get everything right 100% of the time, of course not, that’s ridiculous.
I think your detractions from his accomplishments are as silly as my over exaggerations of his accomplishments. The guy is obviously good at what he does. |

He could probably play a back up role very well behind a good young starter like they’ve got in Philadelphia or Vancouver. |

So had my second vax yesterday, felt great, great bbq’d burgers, one 6 oz glass of wine and woke up this morning felling like I drank 3 bottles. Very sore arm.
Just received a note from CaptEO that Adam French had a stroke on Sunday, 4hrs after his second shot. He is stable in a hospital in Ottawa.
Glad to hear he is doing well, he has been a long time contributor to HB. - Makita
Very poopty to hear about Adam. Used to have some great times on here with him back in the day.
I've also felt some pooptiness from the second shot. Splitting headache, chills, nausea. |

it seems that the mainland is a bit more up to speed on the vaccination front as i got my second a little before canada day. i had no reaction aside from a bit of a sore arm. weirdly, i had a stronger reaction to the first dose (sore arm for more days and fatigue the day after.)
i'm really saddened to hear about frenchie. he's an AWESOME guy and a wealth of knowledge on hockey especially russian players and leagues. i'm pretty sure he lived there as well for some time and would give regular updates on what was happening over there hockey wise.
he's also a member of the LNDT. if you're a member, you know what it means. he's also a not bad player of online risk (the board game.)
thoughts and well wishes for a speedy recovery to him. hopefully, he comes back soon to class this joint up. - RealityChecker

Yeah last year defines everyone’s career, the 914 at 917 the two previous seasons mean nothing |

No, if he was bought out or traded and some salary was retained, obviously. |

BREAKING NEWS: #mnwild buying out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter: Sources
Michael Russo
@RussoHockey - LeftCoaster
This changes things. I wonder what Suter would cost us. Would he play here?
Parise could be a good add for 3rd line as well on a cheap 1 year. |

I am sure Brackett has suggested at least 1 player that has been decent in the NHL. |

As both a 20 year old and a 21 year old he saved the Flyers asses a few times in this first two seasons. His age and his play as a very young goaltender, which is rare in the NHL, is what makes him a great young starter. |
