I would think no trades will happen until after the expansion draft. July 22nd could be a very active day. - mhp
Looking more like it, even though they could make a move for a goalie with a spot open. |

There have been so many rumors and a number of teams interested in Eichel that it's anybody's guess where he goes and for what. I will say that I could see a scenario where Vegas gets him. I'm doubting CBJ and Calgary and Bob Murray in Anaheim might not like the ask enough to pull the trigger.
My $.02 - mhp
My guess… hope… is he ends up in the west.
And if he is in the east, the east conf “tax” is well worth it.
I just don’t want to hear about jack coming back to buffalo. Buffalo heads to jacks house.
It would be nauseating for 5 freaking years.

Why would Detroit want to trade him? That doesn't make sense. - mhp

Many of these rumored trades and proposals seem to be centered on 4 assets, yet the the quality of the returns are declining. If this is truly representative of the actual discussions occurring; then Adams is in trouble.
Perhaps Adams should chart a new course of insisting on high quality over quantity.

maybe the total return for both jack and skunk would be a better prism with which to view this off season...and perhaps if they could get a solid return for skunk first, like maybe the 9th overall and podkholzin from van, it would ease some of the pressure of necessitating a huge return for jack |

In a trade with Vegas, I'm not sure I would want Glass included as a central piece...would much rather have Krebs.
Also, if Tuch and/or Theodare is a part of the return; then I would seriously consider trading them as well, dependent on the return of course. I realize they are very good players and certainly not "old" by any means...but I would love to see what they would bring back. |

Ya, I guess...but I would think in maximizing each individually, the combined return would be better.
So, IMO, I would not be inclined to accept less on Jack because Rhino garnered more than anticipated. I do agree that you have to look at the big picture when considering the individual returns to optimize the sum of the parts (i.e. why get 2 LhDs combined from 2 separate deals when Power makes sense there ..go get other assets that are not redundant.)
Again, my issue is more the quantity vs quality path these returns seem to be headed for.
For instance using the Kings as an example, I'd be much more inclined to take Byfield and 8; than Kupari, Kaliyev, 8, Clague.
That is just my opinion. |

tuch and/or theodore would be great gets for the sabres...they're signed to nice deals that stretch for five and four years, respectively, they're both 25 yrs. old which isn't too far removed from the new core and they've been through the battles of a full nhl season and extended playoff runs...
more futures is enticing, but i'd lean towards keeping them around |

Conor Garland is intriguing, especially with Arizona having money problems again.

I would be shocked if Vegas was willing to include Theodore in a trade for Eichel.
A trade centered around the Vegas 21 1st, Krebs, and Tuch seems much more likely. |

If it's Turcotte, Kaliyev, and the 8th overall for Eichel, I'd do it. |

I'm not much of a Kaliyev fan myself. His 2 way game and compete level are suspect.
I was big on Turcotte 2 years ago, I've cooled a little on him.
They both could pop though. |
