Calgary and Minny say no, anaheim and Vegas seem fair - Ross77
 Wild say no?
They should be lucky they get to keep their best prospect in the deal...
As far as the Flames deal, I think this is a fair deal because we get NHL ready players. |

I have no knowledge of their plans but it could make sense for the Sabres to deal Risto this week like the Preds did with Arvidsson.
If Skinner waived and they did that, Seattle would be choosing between Gus, Eakin and Miller. Take a couple picks for Risto and move on - Hank Balling
Yeah NJ been pretty high on Risto, see what happens. |

For the Flames offer, Tkachuk's next contract is key there. Plus rumors of him wanting out play a bit.
But the kid is a stud, think of it Eichel > Tkachuk because of the position and term on the contract. There would need to be more from Calgary besides him but not as much as you put there. |

Article in todays Buffalo News says Jack Quinn has his sights on being a part of the new young core.
Encouraging! - sgk56
Put him on Jack's wing when Jack comes back healthy in January

I thought that when the rumors started about him wanting out the smart thing to do was heal him up have him play well all year and then trade him at the 2022 Draft before his NTC kicks in.
However after his press conference at the end of the year, I feel the damage done might be too much to even bring him back into the locker room, even though I really would like to see him and Reinhart play together in Donnie's system.
I think Eichel when healthy would be a 90-100 point player, which would demand a huge return if he still wanted out.
Sadly I don't think we will see it. - Stripes77
Regarding the bolded part, can his alleged locker room (bad) attitude do much more damage than last place ? I don't think so.
While I'm on the "keep him here forever" bandwagon, I do see the point of the "trade him next year" idea.

I wouldn't bring him around the young kids who played much better when Ralph and Jack were gone and Donnie let them play more relaxed.
Obviously they're a more talented team with Jack in the lineup, but having someone miserable all year because he doesn't want to be there (who is the captain no less) is not a good look IMO |

Guess it depends on acquiring team views him as a top 3 worth protecting
No takers
Miller and a 3rd probably gets Seattle to bite |

None of them...but most ready would be Powers, Berniers and maybe Eklund IMO |

True. But is he really miserable here ? Has he said this ? Or is it all hearsay ? You know how the internet works...someone says something, and the heard piles on to join in and shortly after that, it becomes gospel.

I think he needs a nice, slow development to truly hit his ceiling. He's super young too |

I don’t think any of them should play in the league next year.
If you had to twist my arm though I’d say Eklund and Power |

Yeah Power looks like he could, but who really knows with everything that's happened this past year. |

9 years from now, I fear we compare this draft to 2012 |

It's going to be wild. I could see the best player of the draft/HOFer coming out of the 2nd or 3rd round just due to how screwy everything was with Covid. There will be some massive sleepers |

You asked for thoughts, so I gave them, Calgary and minny laugh at you and hang up. You can ask for whatever you want, and teams can offer whatever they want. Will be interested to see what this looks like in the end. I did think your Vegas and Ducks deals make sense |

Couldn't help but see Gus parallels with Mason McGirgensons - Michael Pachla
His floor is definitely try-hard plugger.
McGirgensons is a better shooter as a prospect though imo
"A two-way player who is a tenacious forechecker with good speed, scouts rave more about Girgensons’ defense than offense. A hard worker without a standout skill, Girgensons projects to be a second-line center in the future and the perfect complement to Buffalo’s more offensively-oriented forwards." |
