Bolster the top 6 and top 4 depth with any trade. I was on the "your top prospect or bust" train, but different hypothetical packages have their advantages. I definitely need their first round pick, and depending how far back said pick is (Vegas?), I'm going to need more. - Powerslave
That's it, if your not in the top 8 picks your gonna have to anty up a extra piece. |

We have a future 1c in Cozens. Need an interim 1c IMO. Landing 2 is a short term solution unless we can really pull off a winner - lulags
I really like the guy, but this seems overly optimistic.

Doesn't mean that Doesn't change 39, this week is going to be who is willing to go that extra piece to make a deal happen. There's stories out there that the Rangers are getting ready to up there offer. It's getting down to the nitty-gritty, and it looks like for right know Adams isn't budging as he shouldn't. - Buff36
how much is jack worth?...the buyer determines that and it's up to them, not the sabres, to read the market |

He’s the total package, and we only saw a small glimps of a 65% Cozens |

I think everyone likes him, but his 1st season didn't scream 1C.

Pretty much, but the good thing is Adams doesn't have 1 or 2 teams bidding, he's got atleast 5 who look to be somewhat serious. |

Exactly. COVID riddled JR years, tough U20 tournament where he played heavy minutes on all 3 fronts, into a COVID NHL and played hurt most of the time on the worst team in the NHL under the worst coach in NHL history. We’ve only seen 10% of what this guy could bring |

adams needs to reed the market as well...it's up to him to figure out how high the market will go and take the best offer when it presents itself |

This is a terrible take. Cozens is not 1C material. He doesn’t have enough god given talent.
Straight up compare Eichel and cozens. Just on pure talent. Eichel blows him out of the water.
He’s a perfect 2C |

The 1c checklist includes a laundry list outside of god given talent. Eichel has more god given talent, yes. Is Eichel a better total package player? Time will tell. Clearly Eichels god given talent didn’t amount to much for us so far, and his god given inability to lead didn’t help much either |

I'm on the same page as KingCong on this. Add 2 high end C's through he draft and trades. If they all develop well, and someone moves to the wing or you can make a deal from a position of strength, is that really a problem? We've all seen how crippling it is when you're weak down the middle. Give yourself options and don't force things. |

I’m on board with this as long as they are long term solution assets and not the quick fix solutions that got us to where we are today |

I agree - Buff36
and that's where quality people in upper management come into play...sabres problems can really be traced back to the revolving door of rookie gm's who don't have the background to handle situations:
--gmtm with the trades for young-vets
--botts with the ror trade
adams is now up with, possibly, the biggest decision in franchise history...and he has no nhl front office experience...not saying he can't get it done, but that's a pretty heavy load |
