It couldn't possibly be that those 3 teams are mentioned because they're pursuing the player and the Flyers aren't? No way, it has to be because the Flyers suck and nobody wants to play for them.
- MJL

Has nothing to do with those team "pursuing" him. He has made known going by MB post that is who he will waive it for.

the fact you think it has nothing to do with the flyers putrid performance ever the years is an enjoyment to read.

It isn't that none wants to. It seems to be, to borrow a word from another poster, the needle movers don't want to. Not overblown at all imo.

See, you think its because they don't want to play for Philly, I think its because they want to play for someone else. NOT the same thing no matter how you spin it.

Talk about spin.

You can look at it any way you choose. The fact is for whatever reason they are no longer choosing the Flyers. That is the bottom line is it not?

why do you think he would waive it for the Flyers?

If there was a deal to be made 1 for 1 or even if flyers add a mid level prospect/or pick they would be foolish to even hesitate for one second. I easily take the risk unless the doctors say no way 100%. You make the deal Sonny.

Why do you think he wants out of STL? They won recently, its pretty much the same team that won. You presume to know Tarasenko's motives. He's looking for something that isnt there in STL.

How about you name a few so we can have a discussion on which needle movers are refusing to play for Philly.

Once a player is traded, the NMC is null and void. However a player as a condition of waiving to accept a trade to a team, can request that the NMC is kept. The team trading for him has to agree to that.

Make the deal after the ED.

- MJL

Thank you, yea post ED if anything

Not the same thing, I agree. But surely true that they don't want to play for Philly as much as they do for someone else. And if you have a string of such decisions, then surely that says something...

Speculation is that he is unhappy with the medical treatment he received from team affiliated doctors and lost playing time from ineffective surgeries.

like how you word refusing to play for philly. So make up what ever reason you want like player x was always going there, player x always was going here.

Again the fact is they didn't choose the flyers. That is a fact that can not be denied.

Best thing that could happen, however unlikely, is Captain Comfortable and ex selke waking as free agents or telling them they are not resigning.

Maybe that is what this smug organization needs. A kick in the teeth by their own hme grown players telling them to poind sand.

- hello it's me 2050

I kinda doubt Giroux does that, given everything I read/hear about him. I am a bit more optimistic about Couts, given the guarded statements that have come from him after the season. I hope he does so, for his own sake.

Btw, you are very very harsh on the Flyers management. But I would like to remind you: its a business, and the business is not to win the cup to make you happy. Its to make money.

How many businesses/workers have you seen improve their product/service when it makes little difference to their bottom line? Sure, if they made a deep playoff run, there will be afew home games revenue, as BiggE pointed out some months back. But to make those deep playoff runs periodically, you would likely have to accept some pretty bad seasons before that.

Whats the incentive for a organization to do that if they have a steady assured source of income?

What needle mover free agents have signed with the Flyers over the course of the teams history?

Briere
Tim Kerr (does he even count using the criteria we are working in?)
Roenick
I guess you can say Hartnell and Timonen but they were technically traded for then signed.
Forsberg?

Seems like its been the whole history of the franchise, not just recently.

Yes, it surely says that not every player wants to play for the Flyers.

The logic that if Jones doesn't want to play for the Flyers AND is traded to team other than the Avs then it is an indictment on the Flyers is beyond absurd.

Ok whatever. Its also a fact they didn't want to play for 29 other teams either.

And no matter what you say, its not made up, its actually FACT.

So I say again, name the players.

The way they get and keep that steady source of income is to produce a winning team on the ice. The better the team is, the better ticket sales are. The better advertising revenue is. The better merchandise sales are. The Flyers will always have a decent revenue stream but it's much better when they're winnig than losing.

We are not talking about other teams though are we? Sad what fans now grasp at.

The flyers were at one time a premiere organization. One of the better franchises in the league. A destination pretty much all the top free agents considered.
That isn't the case anymore.

Now they are a run of the mill franchise in every aspect. You feel differently.

If Philly and the Flyers organization are so undesirable then why is their alumni association so strong? Why do so many former players remain in the area after they retire? If things are so bad, why do we hear former players talk candidly about how much they enjoyed their time in Philly?

It's not like Seth Jones is refusing to be traded to Philly. He's just not interested in a contract extension with the Flyers at this time, which is fine and definitely his prerogative. And if that is truly the case, then why should the Flyers trade valuable assets for potentially only one year of Jones? To me that's a step backwards considering the makeup of the team and the holes that need to be filled. The Flyers aren't close to contending for a Cup so a Jones rental doesn't make sense. But just because Jones isn't open to a contract extension that doesn't mean players don't want to play for the Flyers.

Such as? I just posted a list of notable free agents that have signed with the Flyers over ALL the years.

NAME. THE. PLAYERS.

And of course we are talking about other teams. The Flyers don't operate in a vacuum. What other teams do in this league matters. Believe it or not, it affects all the other teams.
