Jarry is 26 and just had a good season, he didn’t steal any games for them in the post season but the Pens have no answer for the Islanders as coached by Sullivan. If they would make a big trade for flower it makes sense. He’s a guy that can steal you entire series and if they never make a good run again it would just be nice to have the boys back together. Plus Burke has also stated on live radio that they aren’t searching for a goalie. Give it up.

Its funny ironic that you're telling people to "give it up" in regards to getting a new goalie all while clinging to and constantly bringing up that tired Isles' game narrative that wasn't the case in round 1 haha

Did he mean Zucker and POJ? lol. If Calgary is trading Tkachuk, Guentzel would be a pretty good return on a 1:1 deal.

I'm interested in whether the Pens will pursue Tarasenko now that he has formally requested a trade (or so I heard). The story is that he had 2 shoulder surgeries with the Blues medical team and he was pissed so he found a different doctor for the 3rd one who found some other damage in there that needed to be corrected. Reminds me of the Pens medical team missing Crosby's neck injury.

Zucker & Legare for Tarasenko?

Guentzel & Pettersson for Tarasenko and Scandella? While I would love to get Scandella as an upgrade to the D, I don't really like the risk proposition of Jake vs Vlad's production over the next 2 years.

I think Tarasenko is going to bounce back and I would love to see Malkin-Tarasenko line up together on the second line.

It will continue unless the Pens go rebuild mode and Crosby goes to Montreal.

To be honest I would do either of those deals for Tkachuk. For many reasons...including current management wanting to get a little bigger and a little nastier. I would prefer a swap of Guentzel/Tkachuk (similiar to Neal/Hornqvist) versus trading for Nick Deslauriers or some other plug.

Tarasenko scares me. Malkin has dealt with shoulder injuries for a while and seems to be managing through it. Something based around Zucker could be a high reward trade....but there's a lot of risk tying up $7M+ in an aging / injury straddled player.

I cheer for an American team thats been a huge part of my life since I was 4, so I couldn't care less if a Canadian team ever gets another one or not. I just want the Pens winning them all hahah but why do you care enough about that to comment about it?

Mostly just think it’s funny. I was rooting for the Canadiens.

Haha I hear ya. There are quite a few people in Canada that believe the cup belongs to us or its our given right or some sh!t, I don't agree and think there's major delusion attached to that hahah

I’d be happy to try a tarasenko trade. Although he shoots left and we have too many of those, he plays rw and that’s Pittsburgh’s weakest position up front.

For tkachuk Although his grit would be a great add his ppg is less than jake (could be a Crosby thing) and tkachuk would cost 7m this season, 9 next, then who knows after that. Maybe for Brady. All it takes is one kassian to make Matthew look like a female dog. In terms of $ I just don’t like it. Rust is most likely gone after this year so I’d be looking to add grit on the right side and keep the cost friendly contract of jake in Pitt.

I do agree with not going after Tkachuk due to his increase to 9 million. I feel Guentzel's contract is pretty fair. If you get Tkachuk for 6-7 million a year I would believe that would be a good contract as well, but with the flat cap and his increase I don't see him as a good fit. I still think Bertuzzi is a better fit, but I am unsure the wings let him go.

I do think it all depends on what happens during the expansion for Hextall to begin making his moves. I think Zucker and Pettersson trades/being claimed in the expansion draft would help us free up space to make some moves.

I think we need an upgrade over Marino and Zucker. I think Hextall will ask around about a goalie, but I am unsure if he wants to invest so much money into the goalie spot. I also believe like some have eluded to, that it would be better to invest in an upgrade in our defense (why bring in an additional goalie for 5 million when you can invest that in a defensemen to block shots and help our current goalie).

I think we should go hard after Zach Hyman and Blake Coleman. I think Hextall should go after both since each player can help bring something to this team with the effort they put in.

I think Hextall should make a call to Minnesota about their current Defenseman situation (they may have to expose Dumba to Seattle in the expansion draft). He could be a good 2nd Defensive pairing player for us.
