Benning doesn't really like draft picks outside of the first round, don't hold your breath waiting on more of them. They'll probably trade their first as well. - LeftCoaster
He’s only identified 9, so after that it’s a crap shoot. |

Exactly and at least I know I'm just joking around if I do.
I'm an elite draft guru and some just can't deal with it though. - manvanfan
 if you say so
You are kind of a big deal on a fairly irrelevant social media site that falsely inflates your ego.. |

it's actually a lot harder than it seems as the past three drafts don't really count because most of those kids are still developing. Anaheim and Ottawa seem to be really good at it though??? |

Do you know how many big mobil defencemen (or any defencemen) who presently play full-time for the Canucks have been drafted by Jim Benning over the past seven years? I'll give you a hint...it's zero - LeftCoaster
Not for lack of trying. |

Benning has lots of purple ribbons, so I'm told
Hopefully this is a good draft for the Canucks, lots of good kids out there and he's got a couple extra picks in the 5th and 6th rounds. Maybe he can find a dman with those? |

Brackett was always wanting to pick forwards in the later rounds. |

I've only ever seen a few picks "wasted", nepotism as favors to buddies of the management of certain organizations. Every pick you make is hopeful, that's why you make it.

Minnesota didn't have a lot of picks last year but they did have high quality picks with a 1st, two 2nds and a 3rd. They took two defencemen with those picks and two centers. That's how you do it my friend, centers and defence |

William Eklund, the top-ranked European skater, wants to use another season in Sweden to improve his shot and speed. Feels that one more year in the SHL will prepare him to be a top-six forward in the NHL. |

Just thinking that we only can keep one of OJ or Rathbone, with Keith being gone soon(?) Chicago has the spot to fill, Nylander could help improve our top 9 and could probably be available. |

It's because Benning can't draft worth sh it,
Waits to hear about his 4 good draft picks. |

Question to all you draft experts: who’s the Torres type player in this draft or does such a player even exist anymore?

I hope doesn't exist anymore, he was a predatory hitter. Tom Wilson would be the closest thing to it. |
