This was my thought as well. Granato is a scapegoat for the next two years. If he overachieves he coaches the third year and probably gets an extension.

If not he’s cheap and has a track record of working with younger players and can provide benefits in that sense and then get replaced by a big name when we are ready

Donnie got these kids playing to their potentials. His hiring almost cements that this team will be all futures. Nothing newsworthy there.
