I know it sounds shallow. But the entire purpose of the Montreal game plan was to keep 3 guys to the outside and off the scoreboard. Everything was planned and structured around that singular purpose. Except for Spezza, who stepped up to fill in the gaps?

Partly because they were convinced that doing the job the way it had worked all regular season would eventually work against Montreal. Austin has his nice award and they have to start next season playing another style, one that will work in the playoffs. They’ll need at least one top six guy - power forward type - to play with them. Maybe they change the lines up.

I don't know if he is...just a joke but I had the same reaction when you told me he said a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 5 years has a better chance to win the cup than a team that has.
