Did you not know that all of the best ideas ever discussed on this thread never happened?
- spatso

Did you not know suggesting something, then continually spouting off about it and using language like all the crazy people who are suggesting it to make it seem like it's the idea of others makes you the crazy one?

At least be bold enough to embrace your craziness and admit it's your pipe dream.

And then stop talking about it here - go to the Sens blog and talk about fantasy land.

But But But it's "Playoff hockey", "Hudson Bay Rules" so on and so forth and as such the NHL has decided you will take it and like it and eventually love it just the way it is.

Who wants to watch Matthews, McDavid, MacKinnon, Crosby, Ovechkin, Kane, Draisaitl.... Let's watch Eric Staal, Pat Maroon and Anthony Beauvillier instead.

You need to get off this idea, it's never happening.

its just the way it goes with the Leafs, if something can go wrong it will.

its a curse, i dont believe in curses, but its a curse

I think there is another factor. It is the same for most supporters of the Canadian teams. So many of the fans have hockey in their blood. They know the game, most have played the game. So, rather than thinking through the rational outcome they tend to feel what they know. Not unlike how Europeans and South Americans feel their football.

So when your head tells you Tavares was injured and the line up was compromised, your heart says but they could have willed a different result. Your head allows you to rationalize the outcome, but your heart refuses to accept.

So, we have summer talk. It is the way we heal the disappointment and hurt. It is the time where we are able to build our exuberant expectations for next year.

I love summer talk.

You’re right, the series was over the second JT was injured. No other outcome was possible.

I really like Marner and it would be foolish for the Leafs to trade him.

But, Connor Brown and a 2nd pick would work really well for the Leafs. Brown is a very good player, he scored more goals than Marner and he has the speed and defensive chops that would fit well with Matthews.

More important the 2nd pick could be flipped for the negotiation rights for Dougie Hamilton and the $7m saving (From Marner to Brown) means the Leafs could sign Hamilton and likely retain Rielly next year.

Now, I think the Leafs should just keep Marner. But, if the crazy folks have their way and push him out the door you might as well send him to Melnyk who is crazier than everyone.

up 3-1, its possible having another Elite Center to focus on helps the Leafs.

Leafs also lost their best D (Muzzin) for game 7, and lost him the year before for 3 games.

its the first round...cant even go 1 round without that garbage.

I don't think the series was over when JT was injured. But, it would be foolish not to list it as a significant mitigating factor towards the final outcome.

This is a wise statement.

Most of us get angry when our hockey hopes are disappointed. In our anger we blame and dump our frustrations on something outside ourselves. In this case, many Leaf fans are dumping their anger on Marner. I feel sorry for the kid.

For most of the Leaf fans here, this is a genuine grief issue. A deep hurt, a wound, a loss. It is so much easier to get angry and push away the hurtful feelings connected to the loss.

You acknowledge that the loss was not failure but the coincidence of random chance, injury and a mixture concocted by the hockey Gods. I am always impressed when they show the losing dressing room in girls hockey at big competitions. The girls cry. Sometimes you will catch a guy crying on the losing bench as the time winds down on the clock. But, fans are not supposed to cry. So, they hold onto the hurt and it turns into anger and bitterness.

No.
The idea of Marner for Brown and 2nd is the dumbest and most pathetic trolling Ive seen on here.
If people would stop responding to him, he'd eventually go away.

Ugh just really liked Doughty.

pooping? cycling?

edit: ahh, I get it.

No, taking a crap in my own backyard seems like something I'd regret later. I have a fine plastic Habs logo with a powerful bidet where I do my business

Connor Brown is a third line player who played on the first line and put up second line numbers.

No different than Bozak when he was a Leaf. A serviceable player, not anywhere near "a very good player".

Im pretty sure with Pfizer and Moderna, the second dose was the one with the higher chance of laying you down for a bit.

I was supposed to get Pfizer (that's what I had first), when I got there they gave me Moderna and today I feel like I fell off a building.

- joel878

My first was AZ, with no side effects at all, got Moderna for the 2nd shot and spent a day laid out in bed. Totally fine the next day.

Does kadri sign a cheaper contract because of all his playoff disappointments?

Can the leafs sign him on the cheap(er) come next summer?

I would take him back on a cheaper contract.
