Well, however much we disagree on the issues - and however much we may both would like to move on, this story won’t go away any time soon.
And it looks like it won’t end well for the Blackhawks or the individuals involved - especially now that what some (not me) would call “the lame stream media” are getting on the story. - StLBravesFan
Can you define what "not ending well" will look like? For the team, and for the individuals |

He can skate like the wind but now never rushes the puck. Always passes, even when it's time to shoot. I'm guessing Trotz watched when he was in Nashville Leddy skate the puck so far the play died as it seemed nobody could keep up. Could it be that Trotz is smarter than the greatest coach ever? Leddy might not be, but he is a solid 2nd pair guy at this point. - 6628
Scotty Bowman? I kid, I kid. Trotz is an impressive coach, and as far as I can tell, a good man. |

Well, I would - but that might be considered too political - my post might get “black-flagged” by some schmuck here for the fourth time this year, and my posting privileges might get suspended for the fourth time this year. |

My understanding is the lawsuit is asking for $150,000 in damages. If the Hawks lose the statute of limitations case, i will guarantee you there will be a settlement and a gag order. This will never see the light of a courtroom.

Leddy is now a vet at 30 years old and over 750 games played in the league. Could it be the player has matured than when he was on the Hawks? I just love how in order to make a point, we have to go back to trades made 6 or more years ago.

Fair enough. Just trying to understand. I don't think the legal stuff will be a big problem because of the statute of limitations. That leaves public opinion. I believe it will dissipate quickly in the eyes of the large majority of fans. Partly because the highest ranking employee at the meeting is gone. This is my guess - wild guess. Rocky found out about all this recently, didn't like how it was handled - or realized that the culture implemented by McD was toxic - and got rid of him. If so, I'd hope that some credit would go his direction for terminating a guy who made him lots of money. |

That was such an awful trade, mainly getting back a Ville Pokka...oh dear...6th round pick wouldve been better.

This is true. However, the dollar amount is a placeholder; it isn't a cap on damages. |

It was mentioned earlier that Vegas is lacking center depth and would probably want to improve that situation over the summer. Especially if they get bounced out of the playoffs tonight and fail to win the Cup this year. So Strome to VGK?
Probably have to take back some salary for them to fit in Strome's $3M. I doubt if they move their top forwards. How about 1 year at 2.5M of Brayden McNabb, 6-4, 215 pound LD? He can replace Z or deHaan, eat up some ice time, and give the kiddos another year to mature.
Don't know if Vegas would do that though, unless they extend Martinez. Don't think they would trade a veteran LD if they lose Martinez in free agency.

You're a young player in the league. First or second year. you take this to the police. They come and investigate. The team is pissed that they get blindsided by it. Maybe there isn't enough evidence of anything to charge the guy.
Now the team, because they're annoyed by the whole circus, tanks your career.

So stupid, everyone knows the Hawks are taking Raty.
But I can see Stan’s logic: Cossa rhymes with Hossa, lets take him! |

I’m not disagreeing, but when other GM’s know that you are up against the cap, they will not offer equal value in return, that’s just real world. |

Thanks. I guess I see someone who was strong enough to go to the team (which does take guts), which to me is scarier than the police. Then they wait 10 years before acting?
Many aspects of this are heavily fact dependent, and we are getting the story from one side only. If McD suggested going to the police would be detrimental to the career, that's one thing. If he suggested that the proper thing is for them to go to the police and that the team would support them, that's a different thing. |

I don't think the Blackhawks draft a goalie this year. I think Soderblom was basically their goalie pick this year. In my opinion they need to draft another center that projects in the top 6. Their lacking on that in their prospect pool, so I think they will take a center at #11. |

I agree that they should not take a goalie with #11, however they need to take best available skater, whether it’s a center, forward, or defenseman. They need to use the best available strategy in drafting as well as trades, as long as the player(s) we trade for meet specific requirements, like say =or<24 years old. Of course if there’s an opportunity to bring in an expiring contract with a good young player, then age for said player with expiring contract is not relevant. |

Who would you pick at 11? Mctavish is the player i would like the hawks to pick but i think he is pick before 11th pick. But hawks need to use the LTRI money to gain more assets whether that's picks young players bowman needs to be creative this off-season. Again a lot of decisions and moves hinge on Towes coming back or not. Strome Zadorov need to be moved maybe even suter if he wants to much money. Would also explore moving one of young d man.

Yeah, I have to agree. They've got a number of goalies in the system and a few that project to be above average.
Regarding the center position, they seem to have a number of viable options (Dach, Suter, Kurashev, Kampf, Strome - for now- and theoretically Borgstrom and Reichel) outside of Toews, but a lot of it is kind of average or completely unknown. I'm most intrigued to see Borgstrom. Big kid, his recent tape looks like he's pretty aggressive, and seems to have a really good shot. It doesn't show much of his defensive acumen, so let's see if that lives up to the hope I have. |
