Was he charged with anything? It was a dumb thing to do whether intentional or not but considering all that is happening in the world it’s hardly a big deal.
- paulr

If he did it on purpose, indecent exposure. Otherwise....cringe worthy embarrassment. I suspect the latter.

A co-worker offered to go with us to India to show us around. He’s advised me that you can visit India and avoid the areas of slums and overcrowding. Another co-worker offered to show my wife and I Brazil, but she doesn’t want to go with the current political climate. A good friend has tried to get me to go to Ecuador for years. Apparently there are large American expat communities for tired Americans looking for great weather, a less expensive lifestyle and access to good and less expensive healthcare.

One of my daughters visited mainland China and Hong Kong and she recommends it. And like India allot of Chinese cuisine is exceptional.

He committed an indecent exposure, I agreed and I agree with you. But he wasn’t charged or convicted of anything as far as I know. And I thought you’d be smarter than equating indecent exposure to murder.

Then you agree - Aldrich allegedly committed a crime - and the Blackhawks should have reported it.
- StLBravesFan

Name the crime that you have evidence he committed.

You have skillfully avoided answering that question this far. Why? You seem very sure the Hawks were duty bound to report *something* to the police. What should they have reported?

Not so, mi amigo. Most crimes require intent, including the case at (or in ) hand.

I never said I have evidence that he committed a crime - I have always said “alleged” or “if” or some similar phrasing that says - “I don’t know, but if….”

I don’t know if masturbating in front of someone without their consent is a crime. If, as Tinfoil said, indecent exposure is a crime, certainly what Aldrich is alleged to have done would be. And, to your point, he certainly wouldn’t have done it by accident: intent would have been there.

My point has always been that the team had an obligation to do something about it - investigate, and / or have some independent agency (the police, I would think) investigate.

The offender was no longer an employee within a few weeks of the meeting, if the articles I read are correct.

I will also not be happy if they gave a glowing recommendation to the perp with full knowledge about criminal action by him. If they merely confirmed his employment between certain dates, they did nothing wrong. That is the standard in business, and has been for decades.

However it turns out (unless it turns out that the incident(s) never happened), it’s a bad thing for Blackhawk management. The psychology consultant trying to convince the players that it was their fault, management refusing to inform the police (which I still think should have happened), management allegedly not investigating (perhaps they did) - not good.

It is standard business practice to NOT ignore allegations like this - and was back in 2010 and much earlier.

Anyone watch the really good hockey game tonight other than me? Mayfield with the nice snipe to get it to overtime, and Beauvillier with a wrister 1 min in to win it.

You know, hockey. It's that one with all the guys on the ice with the sticks and the little round rubber thing and the nets. Really fun to watch. Just saying, much more entertaining than whatever the hell y'all are jabbering about.

Speaking of ignoring.....the guy was gone from the team within weeks. Yet you keep saying that they should've done SOMETHING.

Real good game, i love to watch the NYI play, love the big boys on the back end, most notably Pulock and Pelech. Either one of these guys would instantly upgrade our defense.

Geez, was trying not to get into this but: "intent" is much more important in a "civil case" than a criminal case. "Ignorance is not a defense in criminal cases."

I'm a big fan of Sergachev on TB as well. He's really smooth on his skates and makes quick decisions. More of that please!

I gotta say, Leddy is doing quite well for himself as well. He'll never be a big "protect the crease" guy, but gives his all, and his mind in the defensive zone is markedly improved over the years.

Sage....I think we are at the point where it's obvious no matter what someone says and keep giving you valid factual reasons as to why the Hawks didn't call the police...you will keep repeating the same thing over and over again. I don't know how to make one understand the facts as presented so far....the incident happened between two adults at a private residence...the Hawks have no obligation nor should they call the police. Now we all know how you feel....you are 100% incorrect...but we know how you feel...let's move on.

No.

Actually yes please, though I have a feeling you won't have the last word here.

Afa the actual blog...no to a goaltender at 11 and agree with Theo's protected list. I don't think they signed Stillman to that deal to leave him exposed to SEA.

Well, however much we disagree on the issues - and however much we may both would like to move on, this story won’t go away any time soon.

And it looks like it won’t end well for the Blackhawks or the individuals involved - especially now that what some (not me) would call “the lame stream media” are getting on the story.

He can skate like the wind but now never rushes the puck. Always passes, even when it's time to shoot. I'm guessing Trotz watched when he was in Nashville Leddy skate the puck so far the play died as it seemed nobody could keep up. Could it be that Trotz is smarter than the greatest coach ever? Leddy might not be, but he is a solid 2nd pair guy at this point.
