'de Haan just has this year left on his contract. No need to extend it. IF he can get back to playing his normal game, he could have value at the TDL plus the Hawks can even retain to help his value. If Seattle takes him, oh well. - Elbows15
I just don't know if Hawks can count him on being healthy by the time the deadline rolls around. The guy is made of glass....just breaks down now as he has some injury issues, and he's just not very good at hockey anymore.
I know SEattle and the rest of the league likely sees this so my dream of him being taken by Seattle is likely a pipe one. |

Yes, as long as they can still draft Raty. |

Maybe but he signed a deal with TNT shortly after the new TV contract was announced. I am sure there is some out for a GM job.
I wouldn't hire him. |

If he happens to be healthy, then he will have some value. Teams load up on D-men going into the playoffs. |

So are the Knights and the Avs the new version of the Canucks and Sharks? Good enough to dominate in the regular season and then just implode and choke come playoff time?
Vegas has no business being down 3-2 to Montreal. Superior players, across the board but just like San Jose, they just choke.
Series isn't over...but last night you could see guys air mailing the net trying to make perfect shots to beat Price. Think game 6 is a must win for Habs just as much for the KNights. I can't see Montreal beating vegas 3 times in Vegas for game 7. - SteveRain
Caey Price is earning his $10 mil. per year. Vegas has forwards but donuts as lines. There are no centers.

How does Buffalo have any leverage? Jack does not want to play there, so if the team is holding out for more, it will just get uglier. They have to move him for something....

They have no #1C. Karlsson is a good center but the Habs have the advantage at center. Vegas has better Top 6 wingers but their whole bottom 6 is a giant meh aside from Tuch. Habs have the edge there. Vegas D is deeper but the Habs Top 4 is slightly even with Weber playing like ass for the most part. MArtinez is just not the player he was. Still decent, tho. |

Think it's the suitors driving up the value and competing with each either or both holding a better draft pick than the Hawks' 11th or Dach at 3rd overall. Kings have a better pick and Turcotte or Byfield, Rangers have a slightly worse pick but Lafreniere and Kaako, NJ better pick and Hirscher and Hughes and Anaheim has a better pick and Zegras.
Whether a trade of that nature occurs is to be seen though and how desperately a team must win now.

They don't. Their GM is in way over his head. No one even knows if Eichel will be healthy enough to play next season. One of the two GMs is going to lose their job from this trade. |

This. He needs surgery on his neck that wasn't approved by the organization. That says a lot. |

Re Eddie O....I am not saying I would hire him, just think he has GM aspirations long term regardless of his current/future TV deals.
I hear you on DeHaan....I am just not a fan. That is all. |

Stone is also getting his @ss handed to him this series. Atrocious turnover last night that led to the Caufield goal. Price is flat out, out playing Fleury. Slow starts have doomed Vegas. habs really aren't letting them back in games even with all out blitzes in the 3rd like last night.
Still think if Vegas can win up in Quebec, they can take the series. See if Vegas starts Fleury or Lehner tomorrow.
I don't know what I'll do if it's Tampa vs Montreal. LIkely pull for Tampa, as Perry may be in my top 5 of all time hated players. |

Assuming it's true (and the evidence is certainly pointing that way) - it SHOULDN'T go away anytime soon. - StLBravesFan
I would agree with you.....and I'll throw it out there....if Hawks got wind of a pending law suit may have been THE reason McDonough was fired and not the spin job they threw out there.
See how this plays out, but as we saw with the Kane situation, I don't expect the Hawks to make any statements until they absolutely have to. THey seem to go with the stone wall of silence routine. |
