I think Anderson has the potential to have a career from here on out akin to Halak
A lot of short term, low cost deals but with the ability to start for long stretches and steal a few games and/or series
Good value in the 2-3 Million range but nobody's solution long term
He's the ideal candidate if you actually still believe in Jarry and think he needs more time and want a backup with more experience than DeSmith - TheGame316

Nah. Anaheim is in a rebuild with a bad gm. - Feds91Stammer
I have been reading that the Ducks are one of the teams in on Eichel. I'm not so sure they think they are in rebuild mode... but that is just also a sign of a bad GM. |

I think the homecoming made more sense when GMJR was there, I don't get the feeling that Hextall and Burke are interested in bringin him back. - j.boyd919
I think Fleury is still a legit option for Hextall, I just think JR would have paid a fortune chasing after him and Hextall definitely wont. |

Maybe, I feel like goalies don't generally get great returns, and that return is still a lot. 3 roster players and a prospect is a lot. Maybe swap out Petts with a 1st round pick then. - j.boyd919
I think value-wise your trade is fine, but I just ANA would want a different return. I think the Pettersson swap makes sense and even throwing in POJ.

Sure but how many teams are in a position to go after Gibson? - Feds91Stammer
I think when a player like Gibson becomes available there will be plenty of teams would find a way to change their situation to bring Gibson in.

Probably, but I think regardless the situation makes sense for a team like the Pens to investigate if the finances work.

Gibson is the only option at this point, if you can pry him from the ducks. Freddie is garbage and id rather roll with Jarry. Any goalie coming to pitt is going to have pressure bigtime. Maf would have been great except its going to be an overpay to get him back(otherwise JR would have made it happen) If im paying a big price for any tender outside the pitt organization, its Gibson.

Teams like Carolina, Nashville, Toronto, Philly, Edmonton and MIN are teams who I think would find some way to make the space, both financially and roster-wise, to try and make this happen.

Sure it’s just hard if you don’t have the cap or already have too much committed in goal already. Colorado or maybe Carolina should go after him hard. |

Curious why you feel that way. I haven't really read anything that indicates who they might be looking at. |

I definitely agree with a 1A/1B situation next season, unless one of the goalies really distinguishes himself. However, the most important thing is to reduce the quality of the shots against regardless of who is in net (not necessarily the total number).
I think the Pens also need to develop their goalie situation in WBS. I guess their top goalie is Lagace and he is a career AHL goalie in my opinion. - PghPens668771
I think Legace is a free agent and Larmi went back to Europe. So they have D'Orio? Definitely need to improve there as they wait to see if the 2 goalies they drafted last year amount to anything. |

Just keeps annoying the hell out of me that they can't go to the AHL. I really don't know much about them, but the little research I have done doesn't seem to suggest anything exciting. |

Fits though. The Pens divorced their goalie for a younger goalie, then found out he was worse then what they had, so maybe they come crawling back to Fleury. |

I have no idea why there is this link to Anderson for the Pens. Is it the Burke connection? I'd rather roll with Jarry again than pay him. If he wants a one or two year deal at $2M per then sure I'll try him for a timeshare but if we were to go into next season with a guy like that penciled in as starter I think I'd rather just trade everyone for picks and hope we get lucky in the lotto. - MacPatty

Could always sign Keith Petruzzelli who apparently is set to become a free agent and is not going to sign with Detroit. |

Wasn't there a movie about this with Alec Baldwin and Glenn Close?
