7m per year for 0.79 ppg and he'll be expecting a pay raise next year.
So this is really not a good option to trade marner for. - Fakepartofme
His QO is 9M which isn't so hot.
If you're trading Marner for Tkachuk+ it really, really matters what that + is.
Having said that, I'm super open to contemplating a Tkachuk-AM34-Willie line. |

For whopping total of 5 pts in 15 games.
Horrible.
Marner had 3 goals and 17pts in his first 15 games.
Ahhhh that time of year, where leafs fans over value other teams players.
But little mitch has to facking score more for sure. Its ridiculous. - Fakepartofme

Plan the parade. They've won as much as the Leafs. It's win the cup or go home - RogerRoeper
I’ll take multiple rounds each year over what we get any day of the week. Pretty tough to win the cup when we’re always at home after 5-7 games. You’re the only fan that’s satisfied with losing I guess and bashing more successful teams. |

He's "Gritty" and lpays with an edge. Those are guys who do great in the playoffs or something.
The guy looks like a complete headcase that is a playoff bust and overpaid, |

He was acquired to be a good backup. He turned into a starter with terrific numbers. He had a higher save % than Price in that series. He makes 1.6 cap hit. - RogerRoeper
He let in softies and we lost...having a higher save % means sweet (frank) all obviously, you can lose 8-0 1 game and still win a series in 5.
Price let’s in a softie or 2 and we win, except as Leafy usual he didn’t. |

This year we definitely didn't lose beacuse of goaltending.
Go get Price then. Makes 8.9 per more than Campbell |

Thing that bothers me is everyone agreed on that 20 years ago when Leafs made big runs. getting to the conf finals was seen as nothing if you don't win the cup, Now fans brag over 1st round wins. - RogerRoeper
Yup.
If the Leafs had made it past the 1st round recently I suspect this whole narrative by other fanbases would wash away pretty quickly. |

Ya we did, Gallagher’s goal was game over.
Sorry.
Also our other $22m on line 1 stank too. |

Well there were 4 10m+ players in that series.
3 of them actually played.
It's pretty obvious which one had the biggest impact.

He was better in the playoffs than Freddy has been, other than maybe that first series against washington.
Again, we did not lose because of goaltending.

That's the one thing about these guys with much smaller cap hits than Marner that signed half half the term. They all need new deals now or soon. - RogerRoeper

It's a miracle Leafs have fans under 20 years old considering how many "great moments" they gave their fans.
Seriously, winning important games, winning series... that's what sticks with ya moving forward.
My son (7 years old since yesterday!) didn't care much about the Habs before they eliminated pittsburgh last year. |

When the Leafs lost back to back Conference Finals back in the early 90s were you satisfied?
"Oh well, at least we had a couple of great runs where we won 2 whole rounds two whole times!" |

Sure thing Roger, we won because he played so well in game 5 and 7. I must be living in an alternative universe...my bad.

At least we have a month or 2 of some exciting hockey, the last 5 years have been tough....nice to make it but fack, I’d like to watch some rounds. Only 1 team wins, if the cup is the only satisfaction then I need a new hobby. |

After the Leafs were eliminated this year, my cousin - who is a huge Leafs fan - posted on Facebook asking for people to make suggestions for NHL teams that his newborn son should follow because he wasn't going to subject his son to constant failure and heartache.
Not saying this is necessarily representative of Leafs fandom in general, but there is a LOT of angst across the board from fairweather fans to dyed in the wool fanboys/girls alike.
To me, the long-suffering-fan syndrome is my birthright but I wonder if the fanbase takes a bit of a dip or skips a generation at this point. |

He scores a goal every 3 games, in the playoffs and regular season.
Leafs could use that.
And he averages 17 minutes a night. - bobbyisno1
For playoffs, it would be every 5 games based on his short playoffs games
Marner playoff ppg are roughly the same as tkafacks reg season ppg.
Oh and hes over a ppg player in the reg season.
Neither him or matthews played well these playoffs. In fact, when it comes to elimination games, am, mm and willie all dont have good numbers.
Trade them all? |

They haven't won the cup but they've had "moments".
It's our 3rd conference finals since 2010. Even without winning it all, there's a buzz, there are victories. There are moments.
In 2001 (I think) an underdog Habs team elminated Joe Thornton and the Bruins who were 1st in the conference. Theodore played out of his mind and we won.
Was at the Bell centre for 2 games of that series, it was amazing. Pretty much solidified my love for that team.
