Does that not still leave Bolts short on exposing a qualified D?

If so, Bowey and a B forward prospect and/or low draft pick might do the trick.

Squeezed teams shed low value like Nucks got Schmidt for a 3rd.

I have watched every Tampa vs Islander game and many other TB games this playoffs.

Cernak plays 19 minutes a night. Savard and Ruuta are 14 and 13.

The right side is carried quite a bit by Hedman, McDonaugh and Sergachev.

Not so sure that Hughes, Rathbone or OJ are ready to carry anyone.

Do you think this is a compliment to one of your buds? I read something like that I take it as even a twit like Marwood .

You need to apologize to your pal.

I don't need to do anything you tell me too.

You can take it any way you want but I guarantee it's not the way you think it was meant.

No doubt those Canuck players need support to develop. That's why they need stud RSD to add now. Foote if attained, at low value, would need Schmidt to carry him.

Tell me how it can not be taken any other way? Even Marwood knows .

Are you insinuation he doesn't get most things? I wouldn't disagree with that , I just think it is a little rude on your part , but most people here already know you think you are better that everyone

They aren't 1 RHD away from making it to the conference finals though. Van isn't Vegas

They don't know enough about the future state of the team currently to make that splash in free agency or the trade market I would say.

Needing development and support doesn't imply they're Cup ready. But getting a top RSD gets the process done. It's a better step forward at this point then trading away JTM for draft picks.

Yes getting a stud RHD right now would be beneficial to the team, it also changes a bunch of other things down the road. Which I would say the Canucks are really not set up for.

The core is set but the rest of the roster is in real limbo.

And JB is probably in LHD talks right now on OEL.

At least with those guys theres lots of room to grow, giving myers more pk and defensive zone starts is the literal definition of insanity

Welcome to this season. Where is Van and where is Vegas?

Make sense that Vegas made it to the conference finals and lost so they went out and upgraded to try to get past that point.

That doesn’t count as the pandemic was in wave 1 not wave 3. Other teams didn’t try earlier in the pandemic

I'd prefer Edler back at 2M for 1 season over trading for OEL. I kind of hope someone says to Jim "Didn't we learn our lesson with Schmidt"

Dhaliwal says people he talked to Canucks are not going to be in on him.

The Canucks have been to the finals three times, therefore they are on the cusp of winning next year.

AZ is not going back to team that wouldn't give them what they wanted.

Canucks could miss out on all the top players in play this off season. Simply because they have to prove they're ready to compete.

Perfect, b/c it would zero sense to acquire him right now. Give Shaw a decent youngish RHD to work with.

The sooner they get one the closer they are to completing the core. The other parts of the roster will emerge from pieces they have in development.

You keep implying the other end of the spectrum. Teams trying to build a competing roster need to make targets that get them there. Can you name a stud RSD that Canucks can draft?

Oh right, i forgot that the year before last did not happen. Also that Myers is in fact incredible defensively, what with our league leading pk, goals and shot against.

TB would he smart to work a deal around Foote for OJ or Rathbone. Trade a guy needing protection for one that doesn't. We have a spot avail to protect Foote.
Win/Win

- Retinalz

Rathbone will surpass Foote by the end of next season.
