So replacing mid tier UFA type players with other mid tier UFA types. In my opinion, bringing in mid tier UFA types is exactly what the Flyers shouldn't do. Either bring in top flight players or bring in short term vets as stop gaps. Don't tie the team up in cap space while making the team better but not good enough. Worst thing they can do. I'd rather they do nothing. - MJL
Yes that is what I mean, short term vets, 3 year type of deals. I don't want to tie up more big money for very long terms unless its an absolute stud that you want to build a team around. Hamilton and/or Jones are not the players I would spend on. |

The team isn't going to be significantly different until they are forced to rebuild or the view from Dave Scott changes. The core of this team is old'ish and declining, add to that no one is really coming up to replace them other than maybe Farabee who had a good second season last year. - DraftandDestroy
Your last statement that there is nobody other than may Farabee to replace players is simply not accurate.

Then it becomes what player are you expecting to get for 3 years? It's going to be an interesting off season for sure. With the ED and the cap situation, I think there could be some smart bargains out there for a GM that plays it smart. An example would be the trade that Colorado made to get Devin Toews.

To each their own, but it's certainly accurate in my view. No ones proven themselves to the point they're pushing the older core out the door. |

So you think that there is no player other than Farabee that has a future with the Flyers as an NHL player. The following players have no future in helping the Flyers become a quality team
Hart
Provorov
Sanheim
Myers
Konecny
Frost
Allison
York
Not to mention a number of other solid prospects.

This is the exact reason to hit the reset button, we have a decent young group upcoming, get some more assets and see what you have in a few years. |

Yes, and maybe get a vet like Martinez if Vegas does not want him (overpay him if need be for a shorter deal), and I liked your previous suggestion about Coleman. Tough, fast, character guys, that what this team needs right now. |

Yes, ideally it would be good to hit the reset button, however unfortunately you are going to have to give up some of these players or the other up and coming prospects in order to do that. That is the complication with this entire thing, no other team really wants the Flyers core veteran players thus you either have to sweeten the deals or just waste a few more years letting the existing contracts expire. |

there's no point in discussing it with you when you say ridiculous things like that. Provorov, Sanheim, TK are already part of the core and aren't pushing Giroux, JVR or Voracek out the door, you're just being argumentative for the sake of it.
And no, York and Allison aren't pushing anyone out the door....yet. |

You trade Sean couturier, Seattle possibly picks up one of those high price contracts, you have a couple losing seasons, and then you would have drafted a couple high first rounders as well as whatever you get from Coots and it’s time to evaluate |

Huh? 6 Super bowls, 4 World Series, 1 NBA Championship and 1 Cup, all in the last 2 decades make Boston a loser? What are you smoking? - jd250
You see the play Pulock made at the end of Game 4? |

Shaq on inside the NBA after last nights gutless choke fest said he’d knock Ben Simmons ass out if he was his teammate. 😂😂 - PLindbergh31
I'm not his teammate and I want to knock his ass out. I can only wonder how Embiid feels |

Doc rivers was horrible. Just like he has been at his previous stops. Sixers bench is a joke

you are such a clown, twisting his words. He said no one is obviously and clearly pushing anyone out the door which I agree with. You then turn it around to change his argument that none of these players will have a future in the NHL. Surely you see how that is not even remotely the same thing...

I’m Canadian and I’ve been waiting for Canada to bring the Cup home (if Philly cannot). My question to you guys is, do you feel like the Habs are deserving of the cup regardless of whether or not Carey Price wins his team one?
That Canadian division was a really weak division. They were one team short. Habs got into the playoffs with 59 points, Rangers miss with 60 points. Thoughts please. Price is world class but the Habs I don’t think are that good of any overall team. Respect that they gotten bigger but common!! |

No, there will be other low cap hit players on the Flyers unprotected list. The Flyers should not give up assets to Seattle to make them select a certain player. Braun would not get a team a significant draft pick or prospect in a trade deadline deal so I wouldn't be concerned with Seattle taking Braun for that reason. - MJL
I agree, I think the Flyers protect wisely and let Seattle take who they want. Than deal with it. I don’t like sweetening the pot for Seattle to take a better player from the Flyers. They will get a good player from the Flyers (JVR, Jake, or Ghost) and I would be shocked if they take Braun, Hagg, or NAK over those guys. Seattle will have a plan and take guys as they need to build a team. Those last three guys can be had from any team. |

Question is whether Morey fires him after one season and who is potentially better than him that might be available.

good question,
Price or a hot goalie winning the cup is a legit win, especially if they have to get by a team like Vegas. Now having to Play the Leafs and Jets, was the best case scenario path

What's the definition of hitting the reset button? You can't have a team of all just young players. Need some vets. |
