During the Vegas/Colorado series this site was full of experts who said no team from the North division would have a snowballs chance against either team.
Those teams were so much better they wouldn’t win a game they said. I don’t understand why teams don’t listen to the fans. - shack67

It’s starting to look like maybe the North wasn’t so bad after all. Makes me dream of what could have been. |

Josh Anderson.
Ha-ha!
He makes too much eh?
He just scored two bigger goals in one game than Nylander ever will in his career.
End of story. - Horsey Sauce
He does make too much money. So does Marner. Nylander (not a fan yo be honest of his style play…soft) but that’s a good contract for a Toronto.
Nice game Anderson had himself tonight. Good game, indeed.
You know what, AA - The Habs truly do have a real good goalie…err…team…goalie….I mean team. (In all honesty though great goalies win games and no need to feel apologize for that as Hrudy would say) |

Hockey is an honest mans/woman’s game. There’s no cheating. You gotta dig in, you have to come together as a team, and you have to be humble. The Leafs I feel like want to do all that, but they just can’t figure it out. Too many different personalities, it’s not the right mix. Nothing against your guys top players, but they made too much money too soon, and they’ll be spending the rest of their careers trying to prove themselves worthy of it. It’s just bad management to send that message.
I’m not AA btw. |

Ahh there is cheating in various forms in the game. I was always taught that “if ya ain’t cheating ya ain’t trying” - I know what you are trying to say though.
To be honest with you though, once you hit Jr, the better teams/players are ‘Hockey Cocky’ - you need to have that over-belief in yourself, teammates and your systems. Gotta have that ‘stride’. The buy in is what matters most.
Heart gets you a long way for sure, but skilled players with hart wins championships…along with solid goaltending and frankly a little injury and puck luck. Hardest hardware to win in all sports.
I’m not a Leafs fans. I grew up a Wings fan (Stevie Y). Dad and brothers huge Leafs fans. My opinion is that the Leafs are ‘right there’. They just need some tweaks to both systems and the roster. There needs to be that synergy between them. You can’t have a system that isn’t right for the group. They need to get that balance. Didn’t look like it but they are on the right track from where I sit. |

The Leafs fell prey to the League and their desire to see the Habs win. Making any sort of blockbuster move would be a mistake. They have a top 3 roster in this league. It's not even a question. |

Have you seen the goals they have scored or have you actually not watched? They are being outplayed in every way possible. It's like watching an NHL team against an ECHL caliber team. |

It is so simple, obvious and profoundly important.
Leafs have far greater skill than the Canadiens. Skill allows teams to really show their stuff during the regular season.
Montreal players have huge hearts. Hearts matter. The size of your hockey heart becomes more important the deeper you go into the playoffs.
Nobody, should suffer the illusion that the Leafs have enough hockey heart. It is well proven that Dougie Hamilton does not have an oversized hockey heart. The Leafs need to pass on Hamilton. It would be a huge mistake for the Leafs to go down that road.

I watched a bloodied Cory Perry cheering on his teammates as they skated off from their overtime win. Every player gutting it out. Players achieve through skill. Teams triumph through will and heart. You need both to win a Stanley Cup.
Vegas will come back. It is not close to being over. They will not go quietly.
Can anybody doubt what the Leafs are missing? |
