Going to disagree. Montreal altered their plan and shoved into our crease hard. They got the dirty goals and we were not real strong back there. We need to be a bit tougher.
I agree on the third line there but like I said then you move Miky out with a 2mil hit. Money in and out really. - Roadrunner75
You can trade Mikheyev and Engvall. Not on CFACGM of course. It's a federal offense if you dare offer either one to a team. Coleman and Goodrow are tough and if Tampa has to actually adhere to a salary Cap next season, they can't afford to re-sign them. |

Trade for Eichel, put him on LTIR. Boom. Worked for Tampa. - Steven_Seagull
I said this a week ago. We laugh but really, what's to stop them? |

Very unrealistic for people to think that the chips are just going to fall the leafs way. We are going to be able to sign Hamilton while also getting a king's ransom for Rielly? If we move sign Hamilton, we get a similar trade that Vegas got for Schmidt.
The only way it works out that leafs can actually get a good deal from trading Rielly is if we move one of Marner or Nylander first. This would allow them to show teams they don't have to trade Rielly.
Unfortunately, I can't be optimistic that the chips will fall the leafs way. I do think they do something this offseason, but it is definitely not going to be getting the top defenseman or forward in free agency. |

Even just getting one of them would be very solid. I like Goodrow.
I just think the d needs upgrading. And its not that hard either. Holl and Dermott is 4-5 mil there. Move Sandin up with Muzzin. Bring Bogo back. Chara to spell off with Bogo and add Tinordi. Bottom pair far better physically. And those three should come in for roughly that money. |

I agree with Bobby that the Leafs need a shot from the point which Dougie excels at. Nothing wrong with upgrading the D. I just didn't see the D as a weakness. I watched the Grind Line win Cups in Detroit wearing teams down so the skill guys could take advantage.
I see how the Isles batter opponents with their Identity Line. We see it with Tampa. Goodrow/Gourde/Coleman. Plus they can score. I understand wanting to trade Marner. But how can any team trade for an 11 mil AAV salary? I mean Detroit could but I can't see Yzerman doing that. New Jersey? Columbus? Chicago? I don't know. |

Goodrow would be cheaper but Coleman would be the better option. He could be a Hyman replacement. I'd sign Coleman long term for less than Hyman and be happy. 31pts in 55 games, 14 goals. This is while playing 15:28 a game. He's even had some Selke votes which is always nice. |

Add LA, Anaheim and Philadelphia. I think those teams might have more pieces to make a deal as well. |

Trade Marner - Steven_Seagull
He's been on the lock here since Kadri was dealt. At least he's consistent. |

Pietrangelo with 4 goals now. I’m so glad we don’t need that. Pass on Hamilton too. Better to have a career AHLer playing 21 minutes a night. |

Fleury always has trouble against Montreal.
We're in his head.
